Peter Phillips will be a physical block between the brothers, although insiders claim the odd arrangement should not be interpreted as a sign that the brothers refused to walk alongside each other.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said, “This is a funeral… we will not be drawn into those perceptions of drama. The arrangements have been agreed and they reflect Her Majesty’s wishes.”

Royal Family News – Prince Philip’s Funeral Is Saturday

According to sources the placement of individuals walking behind the coffin is based on, “bloodlines and age.”

In the lead are Philip’s two oldest children, the Prince of Wales and the Princess Royal. They will be followed by the Duke of York and the Earl of Wessex.

Next are Philip’s three adult grandsons with William, on the ‘elder brother’ column behind Charles and Andrew, while Harry will be behind Anne and Edward. And separating them is Anne’s son Peter.

Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence and the Earl of Snowdon will be behind the trio, with Philip’s staff bringing up the rear.
