Royal Family News: The Very Latest on Prince Harry And Meghan’s Coronation Plans

British royal family news predicts that Harry and Meghan Markle will keep the world guessing about their coronation plans right up until the last minute, maybe choppering in just as the crown descends on King Charles’ head.

Mad preparations are underway as we speak for the May 6 event at Westminster Abbey. There will be pomp and circumstance but will there be a plague of scandal in the form of Princess Pinocchio and Dirty Prince Harry? Let’s find out the latest dish.

Royal Family News: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a Mystery

Harry and Meghan the Duke and Duchess of Excess told the Associated Press that they indeed were given an invite from the king’s office. So what’s the hold up? They simply don’t know if they want to grace his stingy dad with their presence.

A spokesperson for the couple told the BBC on Wednesday, April 5 that “there was no update on whether they were attending.” And Buckingham Palace has said nothing about the royal runaways so we may literally have to wait until the cameras turn on to see if they are at Westminster Abbey.

Royal Family News: Harry and Meghan Waiting

Harry’s father will be crowned on May 6. Last September he was made monarch upon the death of his beloved mother, Queen Elizabeth. In his 70s, Charles waited literally a lifetime for his ascendance as Her Majety reigned for 70 years.

Royalistas may have to wait nearly as long before the Markles show their hand. Their representative stated in March that the pair had an invitation but “an immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”

Royal Family News: Will the Markles Go to the Ball?

In January Harry told ITV of the event “There’s a lot that can happen between now and then. But, you know, the door is always open. The ball is in their court. There’s a lot to be discussed, and I really hope that they are willing to sit down and talk about it.”

Royal Family News: The Ball is in Charles’ Court Literally

On May 6, Charles and Camilla, the queen will depart Buckingham Palace in a glitzy horse-drawn carriage, the Diamond Jubilee State Coach that was built for Elizabeth’s 60th anniversary.

According to the Associated Press the procession travels through Admiralty Arch and past Trafalgar Square, and there will surely be throngs waiting to catch a glimpse of history. Justin Welby, archbishop of Canterbury, will perform the service in which Charles will be crowned as king with the St. Edward’s Crown and then he will wear the Imperial State Crown back to the palace. A concert will be held May 7.
