British royal family news shows that embattled Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is acknowledging the UK royals for their outspoken support as the country defends itself from Russia’s invasion.
Zelenskyy tweeted on Tuesday that he and his wife, Olena, “are grateful to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge @RoyalFamily that at this crucial time, when Ukraine is courageously opposing Russia’s invasion, they stand by our country and support our brave citizens. Good will triumph.”
Royal Family News – The Royals Are Recognized For Their Support
On Saturday the Cambridge’s tweeted their support for Ukraine on their joint @KensingtonRoyal Twitter account. The tweet read in part: “In October 2020 we had the privilege to meet President Zelenskyy and the First Lady to learn of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future. Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine’s people as they bravely fight for that future.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, signed the tweet with their initials, “W & C.”
Royal Family News -The Royal Family Supports Ukraine At This Difficult Time
Harry’s father Prince Charles, “denounced Russia’s attack on Ukraine on Tuesday in a speech during a visit in Southend-on-Sea, England, for its City Day,” according to People.
The heir to the throne also spoke of the murder of Sir David Amess, “who was killed in a terrorist attack outside of his constituency surgery in October 2021. Charles described the incident as, “an attack on democracy,” and then commented on the unfolding events in Ukraine.

Charles stated, “What we saw in the terrible tragedy in Southend was an attack on democracy, on an open society, on freedom itself.”

“We are seeing those same values under attack today in Ukraine in the most unconscionable way. In the stand we take here, we are in solidarity with all those who are resisting brutal aggression.”
Charles is back to public in person duties after being diagnosed with Covid last month. It was the second time he tested positive, with the first being in spring of 2020.
Also on Tuesday Zelenskyy thanked royals King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, “for their warm words of support to the people of Ukraine.”
