British royal family news divulges that 2022 is the year Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, turns 40. And by the looks of things so far, it likely will be her biggest year to date in the royal family, coming to the fore as Queen Elizabeth recedes with mystery ailments, and Princes Harry and Andrew roil the family with scandal and insults.

Kate Middleton Is A Commoner

The year 2022 follows a rocky 12 months in which the monarchy contended with one of its own facing a court case for sexual assault (Prince Andrew) and one of its own gnawing away at its morale (Prince Harry). Will 2022 be any better? It is hoped that the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in honor of her 70-year reign will dull some of the stain and pain leftover from 2021. Still, Harry’s memoir is due to drop, and Andrew’s court case lingers on.

Luckily there is one royal who appears for all the world to be capable of mitigating the upset: Kate Middleton.

One source told the Daily Mail that in Kate the Queen has someone she can always depend on. “Kate will step up, and I know the Queen hugely values her support, and will rely on her more than ever,” they said.

Kate Middleton Is A Keeper

Kate stepped into the breach after Prince Harry and Meghan ditched the family and her star has never shone brighter. Recent months have brought her to the fore and she has not disappointed. It is said that she has tried to mend the fence Harry mowed down between him and William but really, is that in her job description? Harry is a grown man and responsible for his own antics. What Kate has done brilliantly is represent the queen, a role she signed up for by marrying the heir to the throne.

In November she and Prince William represented the queen at the COP26 climate conference in Scotland. That move was necessitated by the Queen’s ill health and the couple did admirably. One cannot fathom clueless Harry and Meghan navigating such a crowd without asking for something for themselves (question Bob Iger about that).
