British royal family news reveals that according to the Daily Mail’s Craig Brown, Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex is considering some “very serious book deals” from “numerous publishing houses.” This is in addition to her non-work to date on her contracts with Spotify and Netflix.
If Meghan she does write a book, she would be following in the footsteps of another controversial royal, Sarah Ferguson Duchess of York, who is divorced from Prince Andrew yet still living with him.
Royal Family News – Will Meghan Markle Write A Book?
Sarah became a grandmother this week when her daughter Princess Eugenie gave birth to a son and she has written a number of children’s books.
In 1989 she published her first book, Budgie The Little Helicopter. The text was less than 1,000 words and one page had just four words: ‘Aaargh! Crash! Bang! Splat!’
Five Budgie books were churned out in six years. Sarah then moved on to dieting books, with titles like Dieting With The Duchess (1998) and Energy Breakthrough: Jump-start Your Weight Loss And Feel Great (2002).

She then went back to writing children’s books debuting a doll called Little Red, the last of which appeared in 2009. Brown notes that, “By now, there was a vogue for children’s books tackling ‘issues’. Between 2007 and 2011, the Duchess put her name to a dozen of them, under the collective title of Helping Hands.”
In 2011 alone she added her name to these titles: When Katie’s Parents Separated, Zach Gets Some Exercise and the double-billed Jacob Goes To The Doctor And Sophie Visits The Dentist.
According to him, “I’m looking forward to Andrew Enjoys A Pizza and its follow-ups, Andrew Visits Jeffrey In New York, Andrew Chats With Emily and Andrew Keeps His Head Down.”
In 2020 she began reading a book a day for children on a YouTube show titled, Fergie And Friends.
Royal Family News – What Will Meghan Markle Write About?
All of this literary ambition on Sarah’s part has Brown wondering if Meghan will take the cue from Sarah and try her hand at writing something other than calligraphy letters and notes to her dad.
Speaking of which, today Meghan won her privacy lawsuit against British publisher ANL, who printed bits of a letter she wrote to her estranged father Thomas Markle. With one victory on her side, maybe its time for a hobby other than lawsuits?

Sorry, Meghan couldn't fill Sarah's shoes if she tried.
