Prince Charles and Camilla – both fans of “Strictly Come Dancing” – have agreed to host an episode of the show live from Buckingham Palace. The royals made the offer after holding secret talks with the show’s BBC bosses.
And guess what? The Queen, who is no longer staying at Buckingham Palace, has given the project her blessing.
BBC “Strictly Come Dancing” Bosses Call Filming At Buckingham Palace “TV Dreamland”
The Queen has made Windsor Castle her primary resident after construction started at Buckingham Palace. The news was confirmed earlier this year that Buckingham Palace will be undergoing an upgrade that could on for more than a decade.
After the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall agreed to host the show, the Queen approved the plan for the historic episode to take place at the Palace ballroom later this year.
A source said: “Charles and Camilla are very much driving this and the BBC couldn’t quite believe what was being offered.
“Strictly at Buckingham Palace is just TV dreamland. It should be a wonderful spectacle.”
The quarter or semi-finals are being lined up for the momentous broadcast that is set to add to the bang of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.
Charles, 73, and Camilla, 74 – who is understood to be a Strictly superfan – could be dancing together to mark the special episode.
Insiders are also saying that the show is a perfect fit for the Palace’s grand ballroom – where 112 state banquets have been held in Her Majesty’s 70-year reign.
Another insider told The Sun: “The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall are, like millions of others, huge fans of Strictly Come Dancing – and so is the Queen.
“So there is a real desire and energy to make this happen. Holding the show at Buckingham Palace’s ballroom would be a wonderful treat as we celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year. A lot of work needs to be done to get it over the line.
“But there is a commitment and sense of goodwill to achieve what would be an unmissable occasion to cap a very special year for the Queen and the nation.
“Camilla and Charles would be delighted and honoured to host Strictly.”
The plans are so top-secret it is reported that the only people who know about it are a handful of aides and top BBC executives.

BBC Bosses Plan Special “Strictly Come Dancing” Episode Around The 2022 World Cup
Since the World Cup will be taking place later in the year, and millions around the world will be tuning in to watch it, planners for the “Strictly Come Dancing” episode are careful to keep it from clashing with the matches.
The World Cup – taking place in Qatar – will run until December 18.
There’s also some production discussions going on about how to fit BBC’s biggest hit show into the Palace ballroom, which opened in 1856.
