Sullied Prince Andrew Excluded From His Dad’s 100th Birthday Celebrations

Pity poor Prince Andrew. When his dad turns 100 next year, a momentous occasion in any family’s life, his presence will be severely limited. According to the Sun, Andrew, the Duke of York, has not been invited to the June 2021 celebrations to be held for the 100th birthday of his father, Prince Philip.

It stems from his involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein pedophile scandal. Because of his ties to the sordid situation, Prince Andrew stepped down from his royal duties last November. The step was unprecedented and was taken apparently to protect the reputation of the British royal family.

The Firm Has Taken Steps To Exclude Prince Andrew From Its Public Persona

Now comes word that in order to further keep Andrew’s soiled image at bay, the family has requested that the organizers of The Royal Collection Trust photo exhibition keep Andrew out of it as much as possible. The event will celebrate Philip’s incredible life; imagine having to decree that one of your own children be kept out?
A royal source told the Sun, “A warning came from all above to downplay Andrew.” Ouch.

Apparently Andrew’s picture will be present, just downplayed. I guess you can’t rewrite history, because Prince Andrew does exist after all. But in some sense, going out of the way to exclude him only makes his presence that much more palpable doesn’t it?

History Cannot Be Changed Where Andrew Is Concerned But It Can Be Downplayed

So, how does one go about minimizing a family member’s role? According to the source, “Ever since Prince Andrew got involved in this affair, he regularly finds himself ousted from royal family photos. Last July for example, at the wedding of his daughter, Princess Beatrice of York, he had not appeared in any official snapshot.” That had to sting, and the sad part was that it was his daughter who had to pay the price for her father’s so-called sins.

Much was written about Andrew not being in the photos, which kind of blew the whole point of him being excluded. It can be expected that this will happen all over again for Philip’s 100th birthday celebrations.
