What’s The Big Windsor Lunch And Where Will It Take Place?

The Big Windsor Lunch is a special event being organized as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. According to planners, it will bring thousands of people across communities together to celebrate the Queen’s long reign.

The event’s planners are looking forward to creating a unique event with a minimum of 500m worth of picnic tables, enough to seat at least 1,600 people.

This will beat the record currently held by Memphis, Tennessee, for setting up 100m of tables at the May International Festival.

When Will The Big Windsor Lunch Take Place?

The record breaking picnic attempt will be taking place in Windsor on Sunday, June 5, with festivities set to kick off at 12:30 p.m.

The Big Windsor Lunch is a part of National Thank You Day. The long table will run all the way from Cambridge towards the Copper Horse.

The attendees will be expected to stick to the Commonwealth theme for the Sunday Celebrations as part of the four-day festivities.

Who Can Attend the Big Windsor Lunch?Everyone is invited to bring their table to the Big Windsor Lunch as the event’s organizers are hoping to break the world record for the longest ever picnic table.

As the time draws near, people will have the option to reserve spaces on the long table. Once the tables have been booked full, picnic-goers are encouraged to add their own tables or picnic blankets to the surrounding area.

Aside from the attempt to break an existing record, the Big Windsor Lunch will enable interaction between people from different communities, thereby creating a unique and exciting atmosphere.

People living close to Windsor can bring their own picnic blankets or table along to the event, while those who can’t make it are encouraged to watch the national Platinum Pageant on the big screens.

You can come along with your Bunting and Union Jacks when attending the Big Lunch, alongside your favorite picnic treats.
