British royal family news reveals that Megxit was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s way of blindsiding the monarchy via their defection to the US. Their 2020 bombshell hasn’t worked to their advantage—they’ve been called “losers” by the Hollywood Reporter and “f****** grifters” by Spotify. Four years on it’s hard to imagine anyone legit or sane being publicly associated with them on purpose.
The blunder brought about one positive for the royals. Keep reading to discover how Megxit brought two senior royals closer together.

Robert Hardman, the author of Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story states that “Harry and Meghan’s departure brought Charles and his mother closer together.”
According to him, the late Queen Elizabeth and the future king had “grown apart” in the years before Harry and Meghan’s scandal but the controversy bonded them in the aftermath.
Hardman added “The whole kind of royal machine, if you like, is a team effort, and I just think it’s very sad because Harry and Meghan had such potential.
Harry writes in his book Spare how no one will return his calls and he can’t get through to anyone, and it’s just all about me, me, me. And now, when we do tend to hear from them on a royal matter, it’s just to say how miserable they were being royal.”

Given their rancor toward the royals, Hardman states “I can’t envisage a situation where they’re back as part of the royal working unit, but I can certainly see it becoming a kind of normal thing for them to keep coming back.” Harry and Meghan have two children, and keeping them in touch with their relatives would seem a natural reason to return to the UK for visits.

Now would be a great time for the Sussexes to reach out to the family, with Princess Catherine and King Charles experiencing medical woes.
In the end, an optimistic Hardman thinks “it’s a reminder that we do have a slimmed down royal family now, but they will adapt, they’ll make it work, and it is a quiet royal time of year. I think by the spring things will be back on track.” But probably without the Ginge and the Winge.
