The Real Reason Why Archie Harrison Is Going To Africa With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

The Real Reason Why Archie Harrison Is Going To Africa With Prince Harry and Meghan MarklePrince Harry and Meghan Markle have just announced that they are planning a trip to Africa and yes, their two-month-old son Archie Harrison will be tagging along! And while the internet is debating on whether or not bringing a small baby on such a huge trip is a good idea, apparently, there’s a good reason why Archie is prepping for his big overseas trip. Here’s what you need to know.

According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very excited for their upcoming trip to the continent. The Sussexes made the announcement on their social media account on Thursday.

Sharing a throwback photo of Harry and Meghan together, they wrote, “The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have requested a visit to South Africa as well as The Duke carrying out visits to Malawi and Angola. His Royal Highness will also do a short working visit to Botswana en route to the other countries.”

But one of the reasons why they are bringing Africa is because of Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana. Before the Queen of Hearts came along, the royals almost never brought their children on their state trips with them. But Diana managed to change that.

When Princess Diana married Prince Charles and had Prince William, she refused to leave him behind. As many fans remember, little William tagged along with his mother and father during their royal trip to Australia and New Zealand back in 1983. It was Diana who made it happen.

Tonight, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the first of a two game series of the Major League Baseball #LondonSeries, in support of @WeAreInvictusGames. Tonight’s highly anticipated game between the #Yankees and #RedSox took place at London stadium, Olympic Park. The @WeAreInvictusGames, of which His Royal Highness is Founding Patron, has been selected as charity partner for the @MLB 2019 series. The Invictus Games Foundation is the international charity that oversees the development of the Invictus Games, an international adaptive multi-sport event in which wounded, injured or sick armed service personnel and veterans participate. It celebrates the power of sport in recovery and how it can help, physically or psychologically, those suffering from injuries or illness. The word ‘invictus’ means ‘unconquered’ – it embodies the fighting spirit of the competitors. As part of the partnership, the Invictus Games Foundation have a team participating in London’s #Softball60, the social softball series built for the city and targeted to introduce the sport to new audiences and demonstrate that it is an inclusive sport. On this #ArmedForcesDay, tonight’s event was also a chance for Their Royal Highnesses to shine a light on the men and women here in the UK and around the world who have sacrificed so much for their country. Because Diana managed to change several long-standing rules in the royal family, this has helped not only Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, too. As many fans can recall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge brought along little Prince George on their trip to Australia and New Zealand back in 2014 as well.

Both Prince George and his sister Princess Charlotte also accompanied their parents on a trip to Canada in 2016, too. Clearly, the royal kids are raking up as many sky miles as their parents these day and are loving it, too! With that said, we can’t wait to see Archie in Africa.
