Kensington Palace has a grand view of one of London’s most gorgeous parks, one that residents can enjoy year-round. Those residents include Prince William and Kate Middleton and their children, as well as Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. Unfortunately, the stunning grounds were the scene of a tragic event last weekend.
At that time a body was found in the ornamental lake that is situated in front of the palace. Although the body has not been publically identified, there was a worry for a time that it belonged to artist Endellion Lycett Green. Green is a distinguished artist and she is a good friend of David Cameron’s wife, Samantha. She lives in Wiltshire with her husband Rob Nagel and their two children.
Kensington Palace Was The Tragic Scene Of A Drowning Last Weekend
Green is the granddaughter of former poet laureate Sir John Betjeman. Why would her family suspect that the corpse was that of their beloved family member?
When the body was found Green had been missing for a week. The Metropolitan Police had made public appeals for help in finding the woman but until then no clues had turned up.
Thus it was a tense time for her family after the announcement that a body had been found in the lake. The worried family was understandably much relieved when this week Delli was found alive. At the same time, the corpse was identified as that of another woman.

But up until that point, the horrified family believed that the body was indeed that of 51-year old Green.
Upon learning the truth, her brother John Lycett Green issued a statement: “My sister Endellion is alive, safe and well. Thank you all for the support and love you showed for Delli and her family.”

He went on to say, “Sorry to all of you that, like us, were grieving for the wonder that is Delli. We were told a body was found and was her. It was not, and Delli was found last night.”
He added, “RIP the soul that was found in Kensington Round Pond on Saturday morning.” A family friend has stated that “Delli went through a bad patch, but it’s a huge relief to everyone that she is safe and well. It’s been a traumatic week.”
There were no other details about what may have led to Green’s disappearance nor details of her reappearance.
At this time the body found in the pond remains unidentified and a Scotland Yard investigation is ongoing.
