Prince WilliamIt’s being reported that Prince Harry has sold some cherished hunting rifles, allegedly in a bid to appease his non-hunting wife Meghan Markle. Will Prince William be quick to do the same?

That remains to be seen as William is an avid hunter, a hobby that supposedly “disgusted” his mom, Princess Diana according to royal editor Robert Jobson.

In his 2006 book, “William’s Princess,” he goes into detail about just what drove his mom up a wall about his hobby.

“This ‘sensitive’ young man loves the hunting and fishing lifestyle that seems a complete anachronism when set against the flip side of his character.”

William Has A Favorite Hobby That Allegedly “Disgusted” Diana

He writes that “Diana disapproved violently of the ‘manly’ pursuits that Charles encouraged his sons to enjoy. She tried to turn their heads with the excitement of amusement parks and thrill rides but they were devoted to their father, too, and genuinely enjoyed the outdoor activities so favored by the Windsors.”

“Much to Diana’s disgust he bagged his first rabbit at the age of 11.”

Hunting Is In The Windsor Family Tree And DNA

Does his love of hunting contradict William’s more sensitive characteristics? According to Jobson, William is, “a mass of contradictions.”

He describes him as, “the future king who visited amusement parks as a child, who plays football, is up to speed on contemporary culture, and enjoys a pint with his friends.”

He tells of another incident in which William, “felled a stag in the Scottish Highlands with a single shot and was blooded. Diana let it pass and resigned herself to the fact that her eldest son was thrilled by the chase.”

Will William Introduce Hunting To His Own Children?

Now that he is a dad to three youngsters will William have his kids participate in one of his favorite pastimes?

Based on social media posts, William and his family greatly enjoy the outdoors. Currently, they are in isolation at their rural Norfolk home, Anmer Hall. And his 6-year old Prince George is reportedly in love with the country lifestyle—through much too young to be introduced to hunting!

If he does take it up, it will likely be in contrast to the pastimes of his royal cousin Archie who celebrated his first birthday today. It’s been reported that his mom Meghan loathes hunting and was behind his dad Harry’s sell-off of treasured firearms.
