90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 4 features Ed Brown, better known as “Big Ed.” The 54-year-old’s love interest is 23-year-old Rosemarie, who lives in the Philippines. During an interview, the reality TV star admits he was bullied when the show first aired. He explains that it is the reason he couldn’t wait for viewers to see the “neck” episode.
As 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days fans know, Ed is quite short. Standing at only 4’11, that alone makes him stand out. However, he is also a little plumper than other reality TV personalities. In addition to that, he is an older man at age 54 and he also has a medical condition that explains the appearance of his neck.
Called Klippel Feil Syndrome (KFS), it is a condition that he was born with which gives him a short neck that has a limited range of movement. Those diagnosed also tend to have an enlarged chest cavity.
90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days Star Bullied
Growing up, Big Ed endured bullying. Some gave him nicknames like “No Neck Ed” or “Neckless.” Being on the show would result in him reliving some of his younger days when he became the target of online bullying.
He talked about the situation with Fox News and said, “[I would see comments like] ‘I can’t wait till neck season’ and ‘Where is the guy’s neck?’ And they would take my picture and do kind of funny things. And I’d begun to understand why my daughter and my ex-wife were so against me doing this because they knew I was opening myself up to be a target.”
It was because of this bullying that made Ed excited for the “neck” episode to air.

‘Big Ed’ Featured in ‘Neck’ Episode
The reality star’s condition will be addressed in the “Neck” episode. Not only will it allow those with KFS to see someone with the diagnosis living life in big ways and taking risks, but it will also educate others.
Often, people (even grown adults) bully because they don’t understand something. Once they realize that this is out of Big Ed’s control and is an actual medical condition, it can create awareness. Perhaps the next time they see someone with these features, they will be a little kinder.
