90 Day Fiance fans who love dogs are following Evelin Villegas because her puppy fell very ill. Everyone who watched the wedding on the spinoff, The Other Way, knows that Poppy the pooch was the guest of honor. Now that the husky is on the mend, she explained more about how her dog fell sick in the first place.

On April 19, Evelin took to her Instagram and shared the news that her dog fell extremely ill. In fact, he was so sick that he developed paralysis and couldn’t walk at all. So, she and Corey Rathgeber rushed him to the vet. It was several hours away from where they live, but they visited him in the animal hospital every day. Later, she gave an update. In fact, they found out he had gotten toxoplasmosis. 

Several days later, 90 Day Fiance fans heard that the treatment seem to be working. However, it’s not going to be a quick road to recovery for Poppy. Last week, she shared a video of her dog trying to walk. However, he only managed it with someone holding a towel under his tummy. still, it was progress.  Relieved fans felt happy to see that the pooch was clearly on the mend. Naturally, they wanted to know more about how he got so sick in the first place.

90 Day Fiancé Spoilers – rHow Loing For Poppy’s Recovery?

If you don’t know, toxoplasmosis can be carried by cats and it’s a parasite. Humans and other animals can get it if they eat traces of feces. However, you can also get it from eating raw meat. Actually, it is a serious illness that can be fatal if left untreated. Additionally, it can come with complications such as Poppy demonstrated. This week, in another update Evelin Villegas explained that her dog developed what is known as “Polyradiculoneuritis.”

Asked how long it might take for her furbaby to recover, the 90 Day Fiance alun said that she doesn’t know. Apparently, it’s a “rare” condition. While he “got his treatment and he is starting to walk on his own,” she thinks it will be a few weeks before he’s “back to normal.” Apparently, he got the toxoplasmosis when he found a “dead chicken on the beach., “

90 Day Fiancé Spoilers – What Is Polyradiculoneuritis?

Checking out what the 90 Day Fiance alum said, the answer came from Merck’s Veterinary Manual. Their website explains that cats and dogs can get it, but it’s less common in cats. The explanation shows that “Raw chicken consumption is a risk factor in dogs, most likely caused by an immune response to contamination of chicken meat.”

Actually, it’s just as well and that the TLC alums rushed their dog to the vet. Apparently, it can also cause “facial and laryngeal weakness. Occasionally, the thoracic limbs are initially affected. Death from respiratory paralysis can occur in severe cases.”
