’90 Day Fiance – The Other Way’ Spoilers: Sumit’s Parents Grossly Misunderstood His & Jenny’s Relationship

Jenny SlattenTLC’s “90 Day Fiancé-The Other Way” fans were finally introduced to Sumit’s parents, Anil and Sahna Singh (and presumably finally learned Sumit’s last name) in a recent episode. Anil and Sahna either grossly misunderstood Sumit and Jenny Slatten’s relationship, or weren’t told about it and are making some shocking statements about Jenny!

Jenny is a good deal older than Sumit, she’s in her sixties while he’s in his thirties, but she’s even older than his mother, Sahna. Fans worried about their future when they saw Sumit’s friends telling Jenny’s age on the show. For Jenny’s part, she appeared perplexed whenever Sumit brought up the topic of their meeting his parents, and now viewers know why. Anil and Sahna Singh have spoken out for the first time ever on “90 Day Fiancé-The Other Way” and they are definitely not approving or giving their blessing to the relationship whatsoever!

Jenny, now sixty-one, and from Palm Springs, California, and Sumit, now thirty-two, and from New Dehli, India met in a very strange way. Sumit had actually catfished Jenny on a singles dating website, claiming to be a doctor based in the United Kingdom. But by the time Jenny found out the truth, she’d already fallen in love with him and he with her.

She flew to New Dehli and stayed at his parents’ house for a time before returning to America and continuing their online long-distance love affair. It was several years later that Jenny returned to India, after having given up all her possessions in the United States for a new life with Sumit. It was only then she found out Sumit was already married – in a marriage arranged by his and the other woman’s parents, and for two and a half years!

Sumit Singh Kept Jenny Slatten At One House & His Wife At Another

When Jenny first came, Sumit was keeping Jenny at one house and his wife at another, his parents’ house, and Sumit’s family, and his father-in-law came and snatched Sumit away after they found out that Jenny was much more than a friend! Jenny then had no option except to return home to Palm Springs. This, of course, created a HUGE mess and misunderstanding between Sumit and Jenny!

However, in more recent episodes, Sumit assured Jenny he was working on getting his divorce, even though as was explained to her, divorces in India can take a long time! His assurances of working on the divorce is what convinced Jenny to return to India, which for her was a huge gamble. They then got ready to face his parents and tell them their final decision. Jenny, however, has been extremely apprehensive about meeting them again. In an exclusive clip of the next episode, which is the mid-season finale (with the show returning mid-October) Anil and Sanha Singh spoke to Entertainment Tonight about their disapproval of Jenny. Anil talked about when they first met Jenny in 2013 when she had stayed in their house.

He claims he was told that she was Sumit’s Facebook friend who was coming to India as a tourist, and that she was more comfortable staying with a family than in a hotel or Airbnb. Sanha Singh then said that the visit was supposed to only be a few days, but turned into four months! She claimed she showed Jenny a lot of love. Anil remembered Jenny and Sanha having good times together – but that neither he nor Sanha knew that Jenny and Sumit were romantically involved!

 

Anil did notice that Sumit was talking to Jenny a lot at night. He then realized that Jenny and Sumit were more than friends, and bluntly said that Jenny is too old! In spite of that, Jenny and Sumit do appear to be together in India, and Sumit and Jenny both have posted recent photos together on their social media accounts. That seems to imply that Jenny’s meeting with Anil and Sanha went well – or perhaps they are just determined to be together with or without his parents’ blessing!
