As a result, appearance and age don’t matter, at least initially. 

And second, The Voice selects coaches who supposedly possess different singing career strengths.

But that latter goal may have turned into a problem.

Season 21 of The Voice could turn into the biggest ratings success yet for NBC’s singing competition. 

And if it does, credit goes to new coach on the red chair block, Ariana Grande! 

With her flock of loyal followers, Ariana came in like a wrecking ball (sorry, Miley Cyrus) to trump all the other coaches in popularity. 

But popularity alone doesn’t always win the best contestants. 

Grande also proved that age doesn’t matter when you possess impeccable technique as well as talent.

As a result, she’s already won over contestants desired by even the most experienced coaches.

And that brings us to those feud rumors.

It’s impossible to discuss The Voice this season without paying homage to that “Thank You, Next!” button.

As a result, the tiny but mighty diva also has used that button to throw shade at fellow coach John Legend. 

Sparking rumors of a feud, Ariana seems to have turned The Voice into a game of Survivor. 

Will Grande outwit and outplay certain coaches this season? 

So far, the answer seems to be “yes!”

But while the friendly feud between Ariana and John thus far has boosted the entertainment value of The Voice, another coach allegedly feels threatened by the possibility of getting fired.

For years, The Voice has switched up its celebrity coaches with one exception.

Blake Shelton has outlasted everyone, from his BFF Adam Levine to his new wife Gwen Stefani. 

But while Shelton fell in love with Stefani, his relationship to new kid on the red chair block Ariana Grande has become increasingly heated. 

And now, rumors of a feud have turned into allegations that Blake could get fired, reports Page Six. 

When Shelton viewed those reports, he texted Grande a link to one of the articles.

In response to the claims that Ariana’s arrival could result in Blake’s departure, he wrote, “Thanks a lot Ari… Thanks a f–kin’ lot.”

When Grande read the text, she took a screen shot and posted it on her Instagram.

In the article that riled up Blake, so-called sources claim that The Voice producers want “someone younger and more current.”

And that search reportedly results from Ariana’s popularity and ability to attract a more youthful group of viewers to The Voice.
