CSI: Vegas Gets Renewed For Season 2

CSI: VegasCSI: Vegas spoilers and updates tease that CSI: Vegas has been renewed for a second season at CBS. Now, fans are wondering if any CSI vets will return.

The CSI sequel series managed to get an average of almost 7 million weekly viewers. It also enjoys an 83% DVR increase, which marks the largest of any new drama during the fall season. In a survey conducted by TVLine, readers gave the show’s season 1 an average grade of A.

Showrunner Jason Tracey said that “Fortunately, the network has been really supportive, really happy with the creative, and kind of delighted about the Live+7 [playback numbers], the hooks that this thing has into the audience.”

Amy Reisenbach, EVP of CBS Current Programs, commended the show’s creative team and cast for a job well done for the first season. They did well in providing fresh new stories. They managed to prove that even after two decades, fans of the show are still ready and hungry for more and are willing to embrace a new chapter, thanks to this new franchise.

CSI: Vegas Spoilers – Will CSI Vets Return For Season 2?

CSI: Vegas follows the Las Vegas crime lab team that’s portrayed by Paula Newsome, Matt Lauria, Mandeep Dhillon, and Mel Rodriguez. Fans may recall that CSI vets Jorja Fox and William Petersen reprised their roles as Sara and Gil.

TVLine reported that Fox may return for season 2. However, Petersen reportedly signed up only for 10 episodes. He may not continue as an actor on the series but he’ll still be a part of it as one of season 2’s executive producers.

CSI: Vegas Spoilers – Potential Rerun

As for the potential return of Fox and Peterson for Season 2, Tracey said that they don’t expect both actors to return for the second season. He added that the door has been left open to a few of the CSI vets. However, they’re only asked to come back to help “tell this finite number of episodes.”

With four CIS shows to draw vets from, Tracey said he’d want to be like a kid in a candy store wherein he can “go shopping” and find familiar faces for the upcoming season.
