When CBS first renewed CSI: Vegas for Season 2, TV Line reported that Jorja Fox would return. But the frequency of her character Sara remained unclear. And that’s because Fox’s co-star, William Petersen, only committed to the first 10 episodes. Currently, Petersen reportedly will remain only in an exec producer capacity.

As a result, Jorja ended the rumors by spilling her CSI: Vegas news directly to her social media followers. And the actress also reflected on her CBS character’s experience. Through ups and downs for Fox’s character Sara, the CSI mainstay believes that the show represents a love story.

And the story that love, even in the darkest of places and times, can expand and grow roots and endure. I personally just can’t split Sara and Grissom up again. So goes Grissom…..So goes Sara. Wherever they go, they belong together. (2)

“For me, CSI has always been a love story. The story that people can find love in the darkest of places and times,” shared Jorja on Twitter. “I personally just can’t split Sara and Grissom up again. So goes Grissom…..So goes Sara. Wherever they go, they belong together.“

As a result, Fox shared that she has chosen not to “Sidle up” for CSI: Vegas season 2. But the CSI star also emphasized that she had thought about her options for some time before deciding. And the good news… Jorja didn’t totally close that Vegas door on the possibility that her character could return some day!

Beyond Fox’s announcement, CSI: Vegas show-runner Jason Tracey offered some season 2 hints. And while the main man won’t give away any direct spoilers, Tracey did offer clues. “The door will always be open to a couple of legends,” shared Jason.

As a result, the CSI: Vegas show-runner refused to set up expectations that Fox and Petersen will return for season 2. And he pointed out that their appearances in the first season had deliberately remained limited. “But we only asked them to come back to help us tell this finite number of episodes,” clarified Tracey.

What can the CBS boss reveal about season 2 of CS: Vegas? The second season for the CSI spin-off will focus on stars Paula Newsome, Matt Lauria, Mandeep Dhillon, and Mel Rodriguez. But will that team takes on the lead in the Las Vegas crime lab, other legendary CSI actors could walk through that stage door. 

And as Tracey pointed out, CBS can pick and choose from the best of four previous CSI shows. “I’d be like a kid in a candy store if I got a Season 2, to kind of ‘go shopping’ and hopefully tap in some familiar faces,” admitted the CSI: Vegas show-runner.
