FBIFBI: Most Wanted just lost one of its most popular stars. And despite winning fans’ hearts for three seasons, Julian McMahon shared the reasons for quitting the FBI procedural drama. But the actor, who played Jess LawCrois, didn’t leave without an explanation to his fans.

FBI: Most Wanted Actor Quits After 3 Seasons

Ever since FBI: Most Wanted premiered as an FBI spin-off series in January 2020, Julian McMahon portrayed one of the show’s most intriguing characters. And the actor repeatedly got positive reviews for his role as team leader Jess LaCroix. But now McMahon has decided to seek a new career path, reported TV Line.

Julian shared that he wants to seek more creative opportunities. “Over the past few months, the producers of FBI: Most Wanted and I have had discussions about my departure from the show,” said McMahon. And he explained that those chats sought ways for the actor to aim for “additional creative pursuits and the transition of my character Jess LaCroix.”

As a result, Julian explained that he worked closely with producers to find a way to seamlessly transition his exit. Prior to the statement, McMahon reportedly talked with CBS about his desiring to quit even earlier this season. “These ongoing conversations have given us an opportunity to orchestrate a seamless and productive way for me to leave the show,” added the actor who portrayed Jess LaCroix since FBI: Most Wanted began.

How To Watch Julian McMahon’s Last FBI Performance

Fans who want to watch Julian McMahon’s final appearance on FBI: Most Wanted will get that opportunity in March. The actor will film his last episode next week. And mark your calendar to view FBI: Most Wanted on Tuesday, March 8, which will showcase McMahon’s final scenes on the CBS drama. 

But the actor did not leave without thanking the cast, crew, and producers for the experience.I would like to express the gratitude and admiration I have had working with Dick Wolf and Peter Jankowski,” shared Julian. “I’m extremely proud of the work we have done together and put the development of this show, and my character Jess, at the top of my professional experience list.”

In addition, the actor wished the show, cast and crew the “greatest success.” And McMahon even gave a nod to the character he played. “I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play Jess; he is a good man,” added the actor.

FBI: Most Wanted Producer Talks Actor’s Exit

Producer Dick Wolf also issued a statement about the actor’s departure. Insiders revealed that the upcoming episode will reveal a new team leader to fulfill the exit of Jess LaCroix. But Wolf didn’t gave any spoilers in his statement. 

“We are saddened to see Julian leave,” stated the FBI: Most Wanted producer. “His portrayal of agent Jess LaCroix has been a key factor in the success of FBI: Most Wanted. We will miss him and we wish him the best in his next chapter.”
