Jenny McCarthy is going to be replaced on this year’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Former Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale will host alongside Ryan Seacrest live from New York City. Billy Porter will also host the event live from New Orleans while Ciara will also return to host the Los Angeles festivities for the third consecutive year. The 2020 celebration will also mark as Seacrest’s 15th consecutive year as host of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

Hale previously hosted the New Orleans part of the show, but she will replace Jenny McCarthy’s hosting duties over in New York, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Back in October, McCarthy said on Live! With Kelly and Ryan that she will not return to the New Year’s Eve party because she plants to spend more time with her family. She’s also been busy filming the second season of The Masked Singer. In that same interview, McCarthy revealed they’re already filming Season 3 of The Masked Singer.

McCarthy revealed that her 17-year-old son is missing his mom and she feels the same way. He asked her, “Can we please stay home this year?” Since her son will be turning 18 next year, she wants to spend as much time with as much as he can. She knows how “busy” her family has been lately, which has her rethinking her work commitments. In a statement released on Tuesday, Nov. 26, Seacrest revealed that he’s “excited” to have Hale host alongside with him for the upcoming New Year’s festivities.

This year’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest is expected to be the biggest event yet. It will serve as the 48th anniversary of the New York City celebration and will feature five and a half hours of star-studded performances and other events taking place around New York City and around the world. Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2020 will air on Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
