Lizzie McGuire Reboot: Adam Lamberg to Return as Gordo

The Lizzie McGuire reboot is underway. Adam Lamerg will make his return as the beloved David “Gordo” Gordon. The series is expected to appear on Disney+ sometime soon. Gordo quickly became a fan favorite in the original series that aired on the Disney Channel. Fans loved his wits and charm. Even though he was bit of an outcast, he was still supported by his close group of friends.

Even Hilary Duff has nothing but good things to say about the character. According to Deadline, Duff will return to the revival to reprise the lead role. She said she “couldn’t imagine” what the show would be like Gordo. Duff said that he’s “an essential piece of the puzzle” of what made the show what it is today. The revival will show Duff reaching the milestone of 30 years old.

In a previous interview with Vulture, Duff said that her 30s was the perfect time to “revisit” her character. She called it “a complicated stage” that should be the core focus of the show. Duff is excited to join Lizzie McGuire into this new journey into adulthood. She wants to embark on this journey with “everyone again who was there for her preteen years.”

She’s much older and living in New York City. Duff’s character will work as an assistant to an interior designer who lives in a Brooklyn apartment. With a little help of her friends and her family, Duff tries to figure out adulthood in a new place. The Lizzie McGuire reboot will continue Disney+’s line of reboots, revivals, and spinoffs.

The new streaming service already has plans for Cheaper by the Dozen, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, High School Musical, Home Alone, Night at the Museum, and Phineas and Ferb. According to a previous report, Duff will serve as executive producer of the Lizzie McGuire reboot alongside Rachel Winter. Minsky will return as executive producer and showrunner.

Ranada Shepard will serve as co-executive producer. Also returning to the show is Hallie Todd, who will reprise her role as Jo McGuire, Jake Thomas as Matt McGuire, and Robert Carradine as Sam McGuire.
