Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ Season 3 Arriving to Disney Plus Next Month: Will it Find New Life on the Streaming Service?

Marvels Runaways

As predicted, Marvel’s Runaways Season 3 is coming to Disney+ in January. Rumors swirled about the fate of the series. Would it find new life on Disney’s new streaming platform since the entertainment giant owns MCU? Disney+ just confirmed Marvel’s Runaways, which is the third and final season of the show. It’ll appear on the streaming service next month following its release on Hulu. But does that mean that Runaways could thrive on the Disney+ platform?

Runaways is a show that’s centered around a group of Los Angeles teenagers who are connected after learning their parents are part of a dangerous cult. The show was originally released on Hulu in 2017. Runaways is based on the Marvel Comics series, but it gravitates from the comics quite a bit. The show’s cast includes Allegra Acosta, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Lyrica Okano, Rhenzy Feliz, and Virginia Gardner. Runaways was cancelled following its Season 3 released.

However, fans weren’t shocked to hear the news. Most of the Marvel programs were cancelled in recent months, including Netflix’s Cloak and Dagger. This comes after Marvel TV officially shut down and become part of Marvel Studios as the studio looks for new stories on their Disney+ platform. Runaways was the last series to be cancelled even though the original Marvel television that started it all, Agents of SHIELD, will air its final episode next year.

Disney+ already revealed which movies and television shows would make it on the streaming service. It turns out that Runaways Season 3 is one of those programs. But does it mean that it’ll find new life on this streaming platform instead? The entire season is expected to drop on Friday, Jan. 10, a month after it dropped on Hulu. It’s unclear whether Season 1 and Season 2 will be released alongside Season 3. The entire series is currently on Hulu at the moment.

New audiences will be able to watch Runaways. This could give the show new life and spark renowned interest in it. Runaways has become one of the most diverse Marvel shows because of its cast and crazy storylines. Even though it’s part of the MCU, it doesn’t mention the Universe at all. Instead, it remains in its own little world. The final season may not make fans happy, but at least they can catch up on what happened.
