Michelle Forbes Joins New Amsterdam As Dr. Veronica Fuentes

New Amsterdam spoilers and updates tease that fans should brace for massive changes in the hospital. Michelle Forbes joins the show as Dr. Veronica Fuentes. Her character was introduced at the end of the show’s latest episode titled We’re in this Together.

In the latest episode, Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) told everyone at the rooftop festival that he and Dr. Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) are together and they plan to leave for London soon. That means the hospital needs to hire new staff members. Having said all that, it’s the perfect time to introduce Forbes’ character. Karen Brantley (Debra Monk) was one of those who heard Max’s announcement. She took a step back and called Veronica. Fans didn’t hear their conversation except for Veronica’s response, which was “New Amsterdam? Well, I’ll have to think about it.”

In an interview with TV Insider before the premiere of the season, executive producer David Schulner said that Max can’t win Veronica over since they can’t see each other eye to eye, especially when it comes to their vision for the hospital.

Schulner also revealed that both characters are serious about leaving the hospital. He wants to believe that Max will follow on his word that he’s going to London. It’s a scary thought that New Amsterdam will no longer have Max.

There’s no confirmation that he’s really leaving but Schulner didn’t say anything else about the character’s move to London. It may not happen now but it’s possible in the future.

“No one believes me when I say that Max and Sharpe are going to London. There’s a lot to do before they leave. There’s a lot to put into place before they go. But they’re going,” Schulner said.

Max may have mentioned him and Helen leaving for London but there’s no official confirmation that she’s exiting the show for good. As a matter of fact, the character’s portrayer, Freema Agyeman took to Instagram to thank her fans and to say how excited she is for the new season.

New Amsterdam Spoilers – Is Max Relocating To London?

Just like Agyeman, Eggold doesn’t seem to have any plans to leaving New Amsterdam, either. He’s been very excited for the fourth season. He even took to Instagram to say that he hopes fans “dig the beginning of this new chapter.” Whatever happens in the show, fans can rest easy knowing that Eggold and Agyeman aren’t going anywhere, at least for now.
