New Amsterdam News – Star Tyler Labine Teases Iggy’s Season 4 Plot!

Last season on New Amsterdam, Iggy (Tyler Labine) survived a frightening encounter with a patient in his very own home. 

Understandably, Iggy no longer wanted to see patients.

And that cliffhanger left fans wondering how the character would continue at New Amsterdam without helping patients.

New Amsterdam Tyler Labine recently discussed how his character, Iggy, will deal with the aftermath of that terrifying encounter.

“When we first join back up with our characters in Season 4, it’s working. You know, Iggy’s feeling healthier. He’s feeling good,” Labine told CinemaBlend.

But Tyler also pointed out that Iggy’s decision could turn into a “really challenging journey.”

As a result of saying he wouldn’t see patients anymore, Iggy needs to “find a way to his joy,” added the New Amsterdam actor. 

“Iggy’s family was a big part of his decision to leave seeing patients behind after going on a trip with his husband and kids,” noted Labine. “It can only be a good thing if he’s able to connect with them more.”

But spending time with his family won’t fulfill Iggy completely.  And his career journey in season 4 of New Amsterdam will put Iggy up against one of his biggest challenges yet, revealed Tyler Labine.

Season 4 begins at the “exciting part” where Iggy’s decision to stop seeing patients gets “put to the test,” shared the New Amsterdam actor.

“Iggy is sort of outsourced by the hospital as an expert, a technical expert, because one of his old patients, a long-standing patient has a very specific knowledge of something that’s happened in the hospital. I don’t want to give anything away because I think it’s really cool,” he explained.

As a result of his expertise, Iggy becomes a consultant to meet with the patient.  But although the character aims to “use her as a way to identify sort of maybe what had happened, who could be the culprit,” Iggy finds that the tables get turned.

“And it’s scary, and it’s really dark,” promised Labine.  Because this character knows that Iggy quit his therapist job, “she challenges him and she turns into his like Hannibal Lecter,” added the actor.

What will happen next?  We won’t have to wait too long for the answer.  New Amsterdam Season 4 begins with its premiere episode on Tuesday, September 21.
