The kerfuffle blew up when Winfrey skipped The View on a promotional tour for “The Color Purple” movie. Get all the details below.

Oprah Winfrey Disses The View?

In the world of Oprah Winfrey, you get a car, and you get a car, and EVERYONE gets a car. But Winfrey’s rules also mean that she can choose which talk shows deserve a personal visit. As a result, the co-hosts and producers of The View feel angry that Oprah dissed them.

Rated as the No. 1 show in daytime, The View reacted with anger to learn that Oprah skipped it amid her promotional tour. The tour focuses on promoting Winfrey’s new adaptation of Alice Walker’s “The Color Purple,” per Page Six.

And insiders revealed that the talk show wanted a reunion for Whoopi Goldberg and Winfrey. Because both appeared in the 1985 version of the movie, The View felt it would make for a compelling episode that attracted viewers. But instead, Oprah avoided the talk show.

The View Feels ‘P*ssed’

And the talk show hosts and producers felt upset over the “missed opportunity” when they learned Winfrey had skipped their show. As one source summed up, “The View is p*ssed that Oprah avoided The View.”

However, Goldberg does appear in the new movie. It also features Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson and Danielle Brooks, all of whom took time for an episode of The View along with director Blitz Bazawule. But Winfrey proved notable with her absence.

And instead, Oprah appeared on several other shows, including CBS Mornings, The Drew Barrymore Show, and Sherri Shepherd’s Sherri. But Winfrey did tape a special promo for the show’s Favorite Things segment.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Winfrey’s Harpo production company defended Oprah’s absence from The View. And the rep explained, “As one of the producers, there have been appearances Ms. Winfrey did not participate in with the cast, and was unable to be in New York when this segment was filmed right after Thanksgiving. She is overjoyed to see the cast have their moment.”

However, social media quickly reacted to the kerfuffle. For instance, one critic wrote, “Frankly I’m surprised this show is still on the air with the one sided propaganda they promote. I’m surprised they haven’t burst blood vessels, they get so worked up. Channel changed.”

And another commentator questioned the popularity of The View. With a liberal sprinkling of question marks, the critic posted, “The view is the number one daytime show???????????????????? how?????????????? How could anybody watch it???” And another agreed, noting, “Hard to believe it’s #1.”

This is laughable! Who cares! You mentioned this is a number one show??? The one-sided view on “The Pew” is sickening. I watched this show years ago and it was good. It changed to such a biased opinion that it is unwatchable. The three networks ABC, CBS, and NBC no longer report the truth. It’s all one sided liberal propaganda. It’s terrible. The slant of the media is ridiculous. I wish we could go back to the days when Walter Cronkite did the news. That’s when it was just the news not the political views of the network.

I don’t know it seems petty. Did she make a commitment and then cancel. I wouldn’t like that. However, if she just didn’t pick The View, I say she’ll get there maybe soon!
