‘S.W.A.T.’ Spinoff Releases New Details Ahead Of Show’s September Release‘S.W.A.T.’ is one of those rare shows that managed to enthrall a large audience from the get-go. Since it premiered in 2017, the series has been enchanting audiences around the world with their fast-paced and action-fueled storytelling.

‘S.W.A.T,’ as we know, follows Sergeant Daniel and his LAPD team as they strive to protect the general public from the dangers high profile criminals pose. The spinoff will follow Shemar Moore’s Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson.

‘S.W.A.T. Exiles’ Star On What Fans Can Expect From the Spinoff

‘S.W.A.T. Exiles’ will be landing on our screens on September 25, and per reports, Sony Pictures Television has managed to secure a distribution deal that covers every major region, including Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

Arriving with a total of ten episodes, the spinoff will reportedly match, and perhaps even beat, the original’s intensity. New episodes will air weekly on Fridays, as well as stream on the Starz app and across all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms.

“‘S.W.A.T. Exiles’ is coming in hot! I couldn’t be more excited that Starz is bringing this next chapter to audiences in the U.S,” Moore said. “A huge thank you to Sony Pictures Television for believing in this franchise and continuing to invest in what we’ve built together. What makes this moment even more special is that we’re reaching audiences in all major territories worldwide. Fans everywhere will get to experience this epic new ride together.”

Per Deadline, the Chairman of Sony Pictures Television, Keith Le Goy, gushed that the “response to S.W.A.T. Exiles has been extraordinary.” He further credited the excitement surrounding the spinoff “to the strength of the franchise.”

The show’s synopsis reads: “After a high-profile mission goes sideways, Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson (Moore) is pulled out of forced retirement to lead a last-chance experimental S.W.A.T. unit made up of untested, unpredictable young recruits. Hondo must bridge a generational divide, navigate clashing personalities and turn a squad of outsiders into a team capable of protecting the city — and saving the program that made him who he is.”

Joining Moore on this journey is a young ensemble of characters, on a budget a source has chosen to describe as “classic broadcast budget.”
