Suits – Spin-Off Pearson Features Gina Torres
When the legal drama wrapped its final season in September 2019, fans assumed that the fictional courtroom episodes had ended forever.
However, streaming options have renewed interest in and availability of Suits, noted People.

Featuring Meghan Markle before she tied the knot with Prince Harry, the legal drama features a law firm in New York City. And it stars Patrick J. Adams as Mike Ross.
Because Mike possesses a talent for spinning words, he secures a job as a lawyer without going to law school. But Ross then must do his best to hide his guilty secrets.
And in July 2019, a Suits spin-off titled Pearson gave the concept a new opportunity. Starring Gina Torres, the spin-off lasted for 10 episodes prior to cancellation.
Others starring in the series are Simon Kassianides, Bethany Joy Lenz, Chantel Riley, Isabel Arraiza and Eli Goree.

Suits – Spin-Off Pearson Becomes Available For Streaming
Torres portrays Jessica Pearson, who co-founded Pearson Hardman. And she seeks ways to balance her life professionally and personally in Chicago. Pearson became available for streaming on August 31.
However, in contrast to Suits, Pearson doesn’t center on legal drama. And instead, it focuses on politics in Chicago. The synopsis describes the spin-off as focusing “around the world of recently disbarred NYC powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) as she adjusts to down and dirty Chicago politics.”
And Simon Kassianides, who portrays the “conflicted” cop Nick D’Amato, called it a “huge privilege” to appear in the Suits spin-off. “We are very aware of the fanbase and are very excited to show who the true Jessica Pearson is,” he shared. “She gets involved in a world very different to Suits. It follows her personal journey and her world a lot more in detail: her family and her emotional side.”
However, availability for the spin-off differs from Suits. And while the legal drama has become available on various platforms including Netflix, Pearson has become accessible to stream only on Peacock. “The Suits Cinematic Universe on Peacock is expanding. All 10 episodes of Pearson are now streaming,” revealed Peacock.
In contrast, viewers can stream Suits on Netflix, Peacock and Amazon Prime Video. But Netflix only offers seasons 1 through 8.
And at this point, season 9 has become available solely on Peacock. Since becoming accessible on Peacock in June 2023, Suits has attracted more than 3 billion viewing minutes on both Netflix and Peacock combined. And it even outdid the success of Netflix’s 2022 series Wednesday.
