Survivor host Jeff Probst has become a key part of the popular reality competition show. But now Jeff just revealed whether he sees himself in Survivor’s future. Would the show seem the same without Probst in charge of bidding farewell after the tribe speaks?
Find out what the Survivor host shared about his vision for the future. And learn what he revealed about the show itself. Get all the details below.
Survivor Host Jeff Probst – Considers Whether To Stay
Jeff Probst has hosted and played show runner for Survivor season after season. As a result, many viewers think that the CBS show wouldn’t be the same without Probst in charge of saying farewell to each contestant. But Jeff avoided a direct answer, noted E News.
“It’s impossible to describe what Survivor represents to me. Impossible,” declared the Survivor host. “It goes beyond creative expression or professional recognition.” And Probst explained that in a way, Survivor means to him what it means to the contestants.
For Jeff, Survivor’s meaning “is right in line with the ideas I try to impress on our players. It’s about pushing myself further than I think I can go,” shared the reality TV host. But Probst also views his job as “about trying to stay in the moment and adapt to my surroundings.”
Jeff Probst – Shares Love For Survivor
However, the Survivor host played the interview game well in not directly answering the question. But Probst did note that just like the contestants he oversees, he aims to remain a “good tribe member.” And Jeff also seeks to stay “open to new ideas and new people.”
As the Survivor star considered the show, Probst reflected on what it gives him. And he summed up, “The same opportunities Survivor offers the players, it offers me. I love Survivor and I still need Survivor.”

But as Survivor viewers know, what gets said on CBS’ competition show doesn’t always prove true. And Jeff reportedly contemplated exiting Survivor after season 12 and again after season 16. However, Probst remained. And now he feels that the show has begun a new era.
“The Covid break was a great Survivor reset for me,” admitted Jeff. “Coming on the heels of Winners at War, which I loved, I was more tired than I realized. When we had to postpone our shoot, it gave me a chance to step back and once again reflect on all the things I absolutely love about this show.”
As a result, it sounds like the Survivor host and show runner plans to stay loyal to the CBS competition show. And we want to know what you think. Would you watch Survivor without Probst as the host? After you share your views, check back on our site for more reality TV news.
