The Blacklist Spoilers – A Resurrection Or A Hallucination?

NBC’s Blacklist exclusive photo shows Mr. Kaplan consoling a downcast Liz by holding her face with her hand in a hushed moment in what seemed to be a bedroom. Her most awaited return is tied to Elizabeth Keen as a connection from the past. When Liz was known as Masha Rostova and when she was at a very young age, Mr. Kaplan vowed to protect her no matter what.

Since the episode “Misère” will play out with a retrospective look, fans are now speculating either if Mr. Kaplan has miraculously survived such a tragic fate or if she appears as flashbacks that the show hasn’t shown before, or if everything is all in Liz’s mind.

The show’s executive producer Jon Bokenkamp has spoken to Entertainment Tonight but hasn’t confirmed the form of Mr. Kaplan’s return.

“We last saw Elizabeth Keen in the fourth episode of this season when she went underground to prepare for her war with Reddington. This next episode — which plays with both time and perspective — will tell Liz’s side of the story,” he said

Whether Liz is just hallucinating or not, one thing is confirmed: Mr. Kaplan has been part of Liz’s journey since she last appeared on the show.

The Blacklist Spoilers – Filling The Gaps

Mr. Kaplan had worked for Red for over 20 years and was often seen helping her boss dispose of dead bodies and clean up crime scenes, thus she was called “the cleaner.” She’s one of the very few who knows Red is a fraud who stole the identity of real Raymond Reddington many years ago. Red also entrusted Liz’s safety to her, and she has made it clear from the start that her priority is Liz’s interest than of him.

This led her then to go behind Red’s back by faking Liz’s death and exposing his criminal history to break down his empire.

Now that Red has continued to reign and has become the greatest threat to Liz, Mr. Kaplan has returned to the show and might probably provide the answers Liz needed from the start.

Jon Bokenkamp reminded the viewers that Kaplan’s battle against Reddington was unsuccessful in season 4.

“Needless to say, she’s here for Liz in what promises to be the hardest fight of her life.”
