When Will ‘The Crown’ Season 6 Premiere On Netflix?

Netflix’s historical drama series, The Crown, is all set for its Season 6 premiere. The series, written and created by Peter Morgan, is developed from the drama movie The Queen as well as the stage play titled The Audience. This period drama debuted on the streamer on September 2016, followed by the latest season that aired on November 2022. While Season 5 was supposed to be the final one, Netflix announced that Season 6 would be the final one for the series. So, when will The Crown Season 6 premiere on Netflix? Keep reading to find out the details!

The streamer recently released photos of the first look of the latest additions to the show. Now, the final season has arrived really close to the present day in the story and will feature Kate Middleton and Prince William from the time they were in college. The latest pictures from the show reveal Meg Bellamy as Kate Middleton as well as Ed McVey as Prince William.

In Season 6, McVey will star in the role in the second half of the season, which also marks his on-screen debut after his stint as a stage actor. Additionally, Bellamy is a fresher in the acting world who auditioned for the role after getting to know about the casting call on social media.

The Crown

As per the official press release by Netflix regarding the latest season of The Crown, the show enters a new decade where Prince William starts his education in St Andrew’s while trying to lead a normal life regardless of his royal status. On the other hand, Kate, too, is starting her life at the very same university as a student. They meet at the campus for the very first time, and a new romance, as well as the future of The Crown, starts.

The streamer also confirmed that Season 6 scenes were actually filmed at the actual locations frequented by Kate Middleton and Prince William. Despite having aired a total of five seasons to date and winning several Golden Globes and Primetime Emmy Awards, the show surely has its fair share of controversies. Several events in Season 5 were called out by many public names, including Dame Judi Dench, who wanted Netflix to add a disclaimer and inform the viewers that it is a fictionalized version of real events from the royal family. And sure enough, Netflix complied.

Although the streamer hasn’t confirmed a premiere date yet, it is reported that The Crown Season 6 will premiere sometime later in 2023.
