The View SLAMS Taylor Swift Pentagon ‘PsyOp’ Conspiracy Theory!

Taylor Swift has encountered rumors and even conspiracy theories before. But a new conspiracy theory linking the songstress to the Pentagon sparked Whoopi Goldberg to speak out on The View.

And The View moderator slammed a report featured on Fox News about Swift as a secret Department of Defense weapon. Get all the details below.

Whoopi Goldberg Slams Conspiracy Theory

A bizarre new conspiracy theory claims that Taylor Swift secretly works for the Pentagon. But after seeing a clip about that theory on Fox News, The View featured the topic on a recent episode. And Whoopi Goldberg began by analyzing the clip, per Yahoo.

In the clip, Jesse Watters claimed that in 2019, the United States Department of Defense’s psychological operations unit came up with a way to use Swift’s popularity. And so it suggested transforming Taylor into “a [psychological operation] for combatting online misinformation.”

But Goldberg slammed that conspiracy theory about Swift. And The View moderator also scolded Fox News for “worrying about the weirdest stuff.”

But Goldberg also pointed out Swift’s positive impact on politics. For instance, the singer broke records in getting people to register to vote when she asked her Instagram followers to become more active in voting.

And Whoopi noted, “She got people to go out and vote, including probably all kinds of people that you rather not have voting.” But The View host questioned, “If she can get people to do that, why would you say that was a bad thing or talk about it like you were disparaging it?”

And Goldberg summed up the conspiracy theory as “baloney.” But The View host Sunny Hostin theorized that because Swift grew up in Tennessee, the Republican party assumed that Taylor would share their political party.

Taylor Swift Gets Fans To Register To Vote

“I think the Jesse Watters of the world thought that she was their princess,” Hostin opined. “And then all of the sudden, she decides to endorse a Democrat in Tennessee. She was in support of March for Our Lives against gun violence, she supported the LGBTQ community in her music videos. And she said, ‘I’m pro-choice,’ and then she said, ‘And vote.’ They picked the wrong princess.”

But Whoopi also expressed frustration with those who believed the theory that Swift worked with the Pentagon. And she said, “I’m tired of dumb people. I’m just, I’m tired of it. I can’t handle it.”

But after the Fox news segment also included insisting that Taylor became a “PsyOp for combatting online misinformation.” And that included her encouragement to vote.

However, Andrea Hailey, Chief Executive Officer of Vote.org, slammed the conspiracy theory that Swift worked with the Pentagon. “Hi, CEO of Vote.org here. Our partnership with @taylorswift13 is helping all Americans make their voices heard at the ballot box,” Andrea posted on social media. “Not a psy-op or a Pentagon asset. Just the biggest nonpartisan platform in America helping young people register & cast their vote.”

Taylor first encouraged her fans to register to vote in September 2023. And just hours after Swift’s social media post Vote.org’s communication director, Nick Morrow, shared the impact. “Fun fact: after @taylorswift13 posted on Instagram today directing her followers to register to vote on @votedotorg, our site was averaging 13,0000 users every 30 minutes,” Morrow wrote on social media. “Let’s just say her reputation for being a mastermind is very well-earned.”
