This Is Us Spoilers – This Is Us Earns Emmy Nods In Multiple Categories!

Kudos to This Is Us! The drama has scored multiple nominations for its cast and writers work.

For five seasons, the show has taken us through the dramas experienced by the Pearson clan. From the tragic death of patriarch Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) to the memory struggles of aging matriarch Rebecca Pearson (Mandy Moore), we’ve cried, empathized, and laughed at this fascinating family.

Unlike some shows, which seem to struggle after becoming a hit in season 1, This Is Us has aged like a fine wine. We’ve gotten to know more about Jack and Rebecca’s “Big Three” triplets, for example, portrayed by Chrissy Metz as Kate, Justin Hartley as Kevin, and Sterling K. Brown as Randall Pearson.

And the supporting actors have shown that they’re just as talented, with the writers wisely giving stars such as Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth), Chris Sullivan (Toby), and Jon Huertas (Miguel Rivas) their own hours in the spotlight.

Now the cast’s work on This Is Us Has gotten recognition from the prestigious Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which just announced this year’s 73rd Emmy Award nominations.

In the Best Drama series category, This Is Us will be competing with shows such as “The Crown” and “Pose.” In addition, in the Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series category, Sterling K. Brown has received recognition for his work on This Is Us. Also honored: Chris Sullivan in the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category.

And for her work as as a guest actress on This Is Us, Phylicia Rashad has been nominated for Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series Phylicia Rashad.

This Is Us  Spoilers – Star Chris Sullivan To Vanish In Season 6?

Ironically, the nomination for Chris Sullivan comes just after a This Is Us finale that caused viewers to worry that his character of Toby might depart from the show!

Giving us one of the show’s strongest finales, the last scene of This Is Us season 5 showed that Kate (Chrissy Metz) was wearing a wedding gown. Initially, viewers felt hopeful that the episode indicated Kate and Toby had overcome their marriage problems and were renewing their wedding vows, just like Kate’s parents Jack and Rebecca.

Wrong. Instead, we discovered that Kate was set to tie the knot with her British music teacher co-worker. And that means Toby and Kate got divorced (please pass the tissues).

This Is Us Spoilers – Chrissy Metz Confessed To EW That She Fears Viewers Will Hate Her.

“I hope they understand the love that Kate and Toby have for each other and that it’s not some willy-nilly thing that happens, right?” asked Metz.

The actress even admitted that she initially pleaded with the writers to change the plot.

“Well, initially I was like, “Does that have to happen? Like, are you guys sold? Are you sold on that? I don’t know. Are you sure?” Because, of course, as a fan of Chris Sullivan’s, I adore him, and to know him is to love him. You get so connected to somebody. And selfishly I’m like, “No! This can’t happen!” And then I cried.”
