TLC 90 Day Fiance – Happily Ever After’: Asuelu And Kalani Blindsided, His Mother Wants Money, Doesn’t Care About Kids

TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé-Happily Ever After” stars Asuelu Pulaa and Kalani Fagaata are blindsided in a sneak peek of the upcoming episode “Public Displays of Contention” when Asuelu’s mother, Lesina, demands money from them and admits she doesn’t care about the kids!

Viewers will recall from recent episodes that Asuelu’s mother, Lesina, and half-sisters Tammy and Rosa appear to be golddiggers of a sort, and their demand of money from Asuelu has been a bone of contention between him and his wife Kalani. Asuelu has a family of his own to support, which his meager job barely covers, and Kalani works too. Lesina was offended that all he could bring was $100, even though they brought them some gifts as well.

Lesina claims that Samoan culture demands that the son in the family supports all the women when the mother is widowed or otherwise single, and Kalani knows better than that – her father, Low Faagata is also from Samoa but he acts like an American male and taught his daughters to be self-sufficient. Lesina has found a way to make Aseulu feel guilty about not supporting her, Tammy and Rosa, even though they live in Oregon and he lives in Utah with Kalani.

As they met at a restaurant with an outside eating area, Lesina, Tammy and Rosa acted very rudely towards Asuelu and Kalani when he informed them that $100 was all they could afford to give them, instead of coming up with the $1000 plus Lesina had been expecting!

In the upcoming episode, Lesina, Tammy, and Rosa clash with Aseulu and Kalani over money and Asuelu finally manning up and telling her that he has to put his kids especially ahead of her and his half-sisters. A short preview shows one of the half-sisters pretending to hug Kalani but quickly backing away, and them all getting into an argument over the money that Lesina is demanding!

Asuelu is actually in tears as he argues with his mother that he has to support his kids, and he cannot abandon them over supporting her, let alone his half-sisters! One is deaf, so she could get a pass perhaps for not supporting herself although she could probably get disability payments if she were to apply; neither half-sister seems to take any responsibility for their mother though and expect all financial support to come from Asuelu!

Asuelu and Kalani have had their own arguments over his not taking his financial responsibilities towards Kalani, Oliver and Kennedy seriously enough; she is the main breadwinner although his job in a yogurt shop brings in a little money. Lesina and the sisters however think Kalani and her family are rich, and that Asuelu has access to those riches and should pass them along to them! Both Aseulu and Kalani are blindsided, however, when Lesina comes right out and says she doesn’t care about the kids – her own grandsons – she just wants the money!
