As a child, he witnessed his father’s murder and spent years believing that his brother, Russell Shaw (Jensen Ackles), was to blame.

Russell revealed that many events unfolded that night, including an encounter with another man who was later seen speaking to their mother.

This meeting was peculiar, as she implored him to remain silent about the events surrounding Ashton Shaw’s (uncast) death. Now, with the help of his sister Dory Shaw (Melissa Roxburgh), Colter has discovered some crucial information that had previously eluded him.

As the season finale unfolds, Justin Hartley’s character makes his way back to Echo Ridge to reunite with his mother, setting the stage for some major revelations.

Most notably, Colter will discover some ‘keys to his past;’ here are a few teasers about the upcoming Season 2 finale from Tracker’s showrunner.

Over the past two seasons, fans have witnessed Colter Shaw, portrayed by Justin Hartley, meticulously piece together minor details to locate missing individuals.

No hint is too trivial, and every detail counts-thus, upon his return to Echo Ridge, he is poised to unearth some long-buried memories. Showrunner Elwood Reid hints that Colter will experience significant realizations.

Colter Comes Home And Realizes Two Things

In an interview with TV Insider, Reid expressed, “When Colter returns home, he discovers two significant truths. First, he sees that Echo Ridge has transformed into a much darker place.

This aligns with a theory I hold—and I know Justin shares this sentiment as well—that there exists a sinister undercurrent in the world.

Colter is constantly confronting this sinister undercurrent right in his own neighborhood. At the same time, he uncovers an unexpected piece of evidence related to the case that unlocks a crucial part of his history.”

Justin Hartley Warns A Bomb Is Dropped In The Season Two Finale

On Friday morning, Justin Hartley appeared on CBS Mornings to discuss the Season 2 finale of Tracker. The This Is Us star enthusiastically shared insights about the show’s impressive ratings, noting that it ranks as the top program on television and rivals major streaming hits.

He also hinted at the season finale, stating, ‘We drop a bomb;’ as an executive producer, Justin assures viewers that this episode will be ‘satisfying.’ The Tracker Season 2 finale, titled ‘Echo Ridge,’ is set to air on Sunday, May 11, at 8 p.m. Eastern on CBS, with streaming available on Paramount.
