The Baker and the Beauty begin tonight with Garcia’s family eating breakfast in silence, until Mari Garcia (Lisa Vidal) slams her hands on the table, making everyone jump and start yelling at her, making her smile and telling them this was more like it. She acknowledges that 6 weeks is a long time for Rafael Garcia (Carlos Gomez) to have the bakery closed, but at least the asbestos is gone.

She knows for Mateo Garcia (David Del Rio), one little meeting for a small producer is not enough to make him quit his dream; that is not the son she raised. She reminds them all they are Garcias and they are not quitters. She grabs Daniel’s (Victor Rasuk) phone, who is constantly looking to see where Noa Hamilton (Nathalie Kelley) is or who she is with. If he cares about her, he should call her and tell her.

Meanwhile, Lewis (Dan Bucatinsky) and Piper (Georgina Reilly) inform Noa that Gideon Hamilton (Grant Bowler) is there, but she doesn’t need to see him for herself. She feels if she goes alone, and keep this personal. Natalie Garcia (Belissa Escobedo) wants to know why her mother has no words of wisdom for her, even though she has something for everyone else in the family. She knows why. She feels her mother is the problem and storms off. Noa walks into the boardroom and greets her father, who greets her as “bug!”

He likes that she is direct, saying the truth is that he is worried about her; wanting her to spread her wings and wanting her to follow her dream of acting. He feels she wants to leave the company but doesn’t know how to. She demands to he tells her what he wants. He wants a relationship and her to trust him. He is trying to protect her from herself as she is making mistakes that are harming the company. She can keep her out of her life but he will protect her from herself!

Natalie vents to Amy (Madelyn Sher) about what is happening at home; feeling if she is going to be treated like a bad kid she may as well be one. She decides to ditch school and Amy is all for it. Daniel misses Noa, who admits she will be fine, even though her father is truly getting to her. Daniel suggests they do something quiet together. She says she will decide after her meeting, but it was good to hear his voice. He wishes her good luck and they hang up.

Daniel searches through the bakery, finding Mateo, saying he is being ridiculous. Mateo talks about Vanessa Sanchez (Michelle Veintimilla) being his manager but really a real estate agent. He is 27 and that no artist gets discovered at that age. Daniel says that is no reason to give up. Mateo is very discouraged and feels he should find something else to love. Suddenly there is a knock at the door and it is the Miami PD.

Daniel tells him to not give up simply because nothing is happening at that moment. Daniel is being arrested for assaulting the paparazzi earlier and is held in the county. He is given his phone call, where his parents are berating him, questioning him about bail. They learn they need to come up with $1,000 for bail and tell him to stay safe. Natalie begins to record her rebellion diary videos to challenge her brother Daniel’s videos. They are causing “Miami Mayhem” as Natalie is calling it the best day of her life.

Mari and Rafael are trying to figure out how they are going to come up with the money and Mateo decides to pawn off his equipment to come up with the money. He knows it won’t be the whole grand but at least it will be something. Mari calls him her favorite son in the whole family. In the meantime, Noa meets with the board, explaining how she had no business running the company and how she built the brand; feeling every fabric and what she wanted to say. How their brand tells women that they are capable and strong enough to build their own company.

Daniel is called and released from jail. He is told his girlfriend is there but it is its Vanessa who released him. Vanessa admits she did not bail him out, she simply got Kurt to drop the complaint. She is willing to drive him home. Daniel calls Mateo, who is frantic, telling him that they are working hard on his bail; but Daniel informs him that he doesn’t need it as Vanessa got Kurt to drop the complaint. They are all shocked trying to absorb what he said. Vanessa is in a rush trying to get out of the parking lot as she has a showing and she tries to rush out running over the spikes in the entrance instead. She demands that Daniel doesn’t say a word as she is now stuck with flat tires.

Natalie and Amy are at Miami Beach at a music festival, ditching school enjoying Mayhem in Miami. Mari receives a call from the school, learning that Natalie has left school grounds and hasn’t returned. Mari is furious that last week she got suspended and this week she has runoff. She doesn’t want to hear it from Rafael. She quickly checks the computer and blames it all on Amy, angry that she has forbidden her for being with her. Rafael reminds her that it was Mari that forbids her. He knows that Natalie left her phone on purpose for them to track her. He wants to know why this is bothering Mari so much because he knows she is bigoted and if she doesn’t stop Natalie is going to shut them out for good; Mari begins to cry.

The board meeting continues, this time with Gideon taking control, explaining why he wants to oust Noa. He explains how acting is Noa’s childhood dream. He brings up that she has a new man in her life. He also brings up that she condones violence and that Daniel is a felon, showing a video of him being arrested. He demands that she be replaced.

Noa calls Daniel, saying she is worried about him and needs him to call her back. Lewis saying this is a nightmare, as Piper confirms he was arrested for assault and battery. Noa fears she will lose the company and the press will have a field day of her boyfriend being in jail. Her father painted her as being distracted and disinterested in that room. She took her eye off the ball and now she is going to pay.

Daniel walks down the street with Vanessa, saying she could have called a tow truck; but she says she couldn’t leave him by the side of the road. She says her showing was gone the second they hit the spikes. He feels every time he sees her there is something he needs to apologize for. She feels their break up is the gift that keeps on giving. She suggests no more sorry as neither one of them was prepared for the Noa Hamilton hurricane.

She doesn’t blame her but a good amount of the chaos is because of who she is. He admits it has been a challenge for his whole family. She is shocked to learn Natalie has been suspended from school. She is glad his family finally knows about Natalie’s sexuality. Daniel learns that Vanessa knew about Natalie over a year and a half before everyone else. He appreciated that Vanessa always considered Natalie her little sister and they agree to go to lunch.

Natalie is conflicted about checking her messages from her family. She gives in and finds out her brother got arrested and decides she needs to leave the music festival. Amy confesses that she loves Natalie, shocking her. They leave before traffic gets bad.

Lewis meets Gideon at a bar; Gideon confident that he won against Noa when it comes to the company. Lewis reveals he has prostate cancer but Noa doesn’t know. Gideon is sorry to hear it. Lewis knows they have one thing in common, Noa feels there is humanity in Gideon, proposing that he doesn’t want to run Noa Corp. Gideon admits he is facing losses and Mark Logan (Brian Tester) has agreed for him to use Noa Corp to balance out his debt. Lewis begs him to make a deal with him instead. Gideon reminds him that he already holds the winning hand. Lewis asks him at what price.

The following morning, Gideon meets with the board reflecting on Noa’s word believing she has awakened to these outside distractions have caused. He withdraws his motions and feels she should stay in control of her own company. Suddenly, Lewis collapses, shocking Noa, causing Noa and Piper to rush to his side.

Lewis is in the hospital with Noa at his side. She jokes that he already won the board over and didn’t need to pass out. She revealed that the doctor said he passed out from the flu, something that is common in cancer patients. He reveals he was going to tell her but didn’t tell her because they were in a street fight and her father was gunning for her. He devoted his life to this. She felt that was a shadow in what he meant to her. He insists he is going to be just fine. She insists that he is going to let her take care of him. The company is safe and she is looking forward to bossing him around for a change.

Vanessa and Daniel are thoroughly enjoying lunch together. She admits she is liking his videos. He is thinking of it as a career, even though his parents think they are stupid. She knows he is meant for big things. They seem to be getting along, as she tells him not to act surprised when he says it is “nice” after they spent for years together, her admitting that she knows Noa isn’t the real reason they broke up.

They arrive home in the evening when he is just saying how horrible the day started out they notice a car behind them and it is Natalie and Amy; both shocked to see the other. Vanessa feels she should get going. Daniel knows his father always loved Vanessa. He admits that Noa is not high on anyone’s list in his family. Vanessa is sort of sorry to hear that. Daniel asks Vanessa for one more favor. Natalie’s only regret for the day is that she didn’t do this sooner. She kisses Amy, saying, “I love you too!”

Daniel walks into the house where he is hugged by both his parents. Behind him, Natalie walks in and her father asks her how school was. Vanessa walks in, finding Mateo. She demands to know why he is taking apart his studio as he has a song to write as a follow up to his one hit. He feels it is over. She says he is a temperamental artist and she is the one with her head on straight. She attempts to put his headphones on, but he protests and they end up kissing. She backs away and walks out of the room, rushing out of the bakery, leaving him speechless.

Mari walks into Natalie’s room with Natalie saying she doesn’t want to fight, admitting she skipped school. Mari cuts her off, demanding her to stop! Mari wants her to understand she is her daughter. She knows that Natalie feels she is overreacting. She knows that Natalie understands Mari was close to her grandmother, but before she died they got into a terrible fight and the last thing she said to her was that she meant nothing to her and she wasn’t even her mother and so when she had Natalie she swore nothing would come between them but then Natalie was so smart and talented and Mari thought what does she have to offer her other than navigating love but then she fell in love with Amy and Mari overreacting and pushed her away. She has this amazing, beautiful girl and she must look at her and feel she has nothing in common with her; be nothing like her.

Natalie denies that. Sure there are ways they are different but all the good things about her she has from her mom. She is so grateful and lucky that Mari is her mom. They hug. Mari doesn’t think she should stop seeing Amy if she makes her happy. Natalie thanks her mom. Mari grounds her for cutting school and doesn’t think she is going to be soft on her for this chat.

Noa sits with her dad, discussing financing if he resigns from her board. She wishes things could be simple between them, and that he could’ve just asked for help. He feels one day she would appreciate the way he parents. She gets angry when he attempts to compare himself to Lewis. He walks away when her phone goes off and it is Daniel. She decides to meet with him. Noa calls Lewis, telling him exactly how her father treated her; broken. She says she is much more Lewis’ daughter than she is Gideon’s. He makes her smile asking her to bring him food since the hospital food sucks. She tells Lewis she is going to meet Daniel but is not going to talk about it since Lewis was sick and she didn’t even notice; that tells her everything she needs to know.

Noa meets with Daniel. She tells him she won the board. He explains he was in jail and she doesn’t even want to know about it. She tells him they need to stop seeing each other because when two people are right for each other, they make life better but since they started together, his family is fighting, the bakery is in trouble, he got arrested, she almost lost her company. She wants to know how many people are going to get hurt before they get the message? She touches his face as he wonders if it is one bad week and it is over. She says if she was anybody else, but she’s not! He says it is so funny that she said that because in all the time she has said that, this is the first time she looks ordinary to him; and he walks away from her.

THE END!
