CBS The Young and The Restless updates and spoilers reveal with all of the comings and goings in the daytime television world, even soap fans know that the door is always left a little bit open for a character’s return. Seeing how there still might be some unfinished business for Cane Ashby on Y&R, viewers are hoping that actor Daniel Goddard will be back on the soap, sooner rather than later. In fact, we’ve got five reasons below as to why it should happen.

The Comeback Kid

If there’s one thing that we have learned about Daniel Goddard over the years, it’s that he’s the ultimate comeback kid when it comes to the daytime television world. After the actor was let go by the producers of The Young and the Restless back in 2011, fans campaigned to bring him back on. And yes, it worked! In fact, many longtime viewers have said that they want to see Cane back on the small screen, as Daniel is not only one of the most handsome actors in the biz, but also one of the most charismatic, too.

The Young and The Restless Updates – A Moral Survivalist With An Edge

Y&R Cane Ashby might be known as a typical Australian, working-class guy who raised goats but went off to travel and find adventure for himself, but he’s also a moral survivalist with an edge, which is why viewers are so drawn to him. He might not have the book smarts to run a business in Genoa City, but he certainly has the street smarts and life lessons, which is why he has managed to find success in his life. Plus, unlike some other characters on Y&R, Daniel Goddard brings out the kind of emotions that shows Cane understanding the need to connect to people while also showing empathy.

Cane Fought For His Marriage To Lilly

There’s also the fact that Cane fought for his marriage to Lily Winters, despite the fact that their relationship was a sinking ship. Above everything else, Cane is truly a romantic at heart and even though Lily had checked out from their marriage while she was in prison, he still fought tooth and nail for their love and their family. Sure, Lily might have moved on and is flirting with Billy Abbott, but at the same time, she might be flirting with disaster. Seeing Cane come back and swoop in to rescue Lily from any potential heartache with Billy would almost be perfect timing.

Y&R Spoilers – Victoria Newman Needs A Little Romance

If those weren’t enough reasons, there’s also the fact that The Young and The Restless Victoria Newman could use a little romance in her life right now. After her disastrous second-chance romance with Billy Abbott, it would be interesting to see Victoria reignite something with Cane. After all, there was a lot of passion and chemistry between, and seeing Cane light things up on the canvas with Victoria would surely make a lot of people jealous.
