Let’s face it: generations to come will be talking about Victor Newman and how he was always a force to be reckoned with on The Young and the Restless. He’s a legend for a reason. While Victor Newman has done some very dirty and dangerous things to his enemies in the past, he’s also someone who loves and protects his family and his family business with everything that he’s got. Actor Eric Braeden has done an incredible job of bringing out both the best and the worst in Victor.

#2 There’s No Mountain He Can’t Scale

Sometimes, it really doesn’t matter how much or how little a character says in a scene, especially if it’s acted out with plenty of raw emotion. And that’s exactly what Eric does, especially when Victor Newman is confronted with challenges. But then again, there really isn’t a mountain too high that Victor can’t scale, right? He’s said it all, he’s heard it all, and he’s done it all.

#3 He Tells It Like It Is

Maybe it’s because of his European roots or the fact that he’s always been a straight shooter, but Eric Braeden is one of the very few people in the entertainment industry who tells it like it is. That is perhaps one of many reasons why fans love him so much. But seeing how he’s been in the industry for so long, Eric is one person who doesn’t have to watch what he says or be politically correct at all times. In Eric’s world, you are either wrong or you are right. There’s no middle ground.

#4 He Gives Credit Where It’s Deserved

While there have been a lot of people who have said plenty of things about daytime television in the past, there are few who give the industry the credit it deserves. Thankfully, the soap world has people like Eric Braeden who speak the truth. Not only are the actors some of the most talented people around (it’s not easy memorizing new lines day in and day out), but all of the people from behind the scenes who help create the magic too, so to speak. The reason why so many people love Eric is that he truly does recognize everyone and gives them the credit they deserve.

It’s no secret that there are some actors and actresses out there who use the daytime television industry as a jumping pad for hopefully bigger and better opportunities either in the primetime world or the big screen. But not The Young and The Restless Eric Braeden. He takes his craft incredibly seriously.

He’s been on The Young and the Restless for over four decades and he has always put in the same effort, tenacity, and energy into each and every scene he has been in.
