The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal what happened to Elena Dawson. After she lost her ex-boyfriend Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), she focused on her career. This caused Elena to take a job out of town. However, Brytni Sarpy’s name is still in the credits.

Y&R viewers took to the thread to react. Most of them speculated over Brytni Sarpy’s status with the soap.

The actress may be on recurring status, which means she’ll film scenes only when her character has a storyline. It’s not uncommon for full-time soap stars to go into recurring status.

Y&R Spoilers – Brytni Sarpy’s Status Revealed

It’s possible that the Y&R writers don’t know what to do with her character. Most of the storylines are focused on business moguls or wanna-be. Elena Dawson was too normal for Genoa City. That’s probably why the writers sent her packing out of town.

“The writers don’t know what to do with characters who have other interests. If they can’t be turned, like Chance or Sharon, they’re not interested,” one fan wrote.

“Poor Elena. Just like Sharon, getting the DD treatment from this show. And we are stuck with Claire, Claire, Claire, the soup du jour,” another user noted.

The Young and the Restless is supposed to get a new Executive Producer and Head Writer. The changes should be seen in the late summer. Y&R viewers are hoping this means Elena will get a good storyline.
