The Young and The Restless spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) may start having nightmares and flashbacks; will his repressed memories of killing AJ Montalvo (uncredited character) resurface in a future episode of The Young and The Restless?
The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Leveraged Victor Newman Into Handing Over Newman Enterprises With Misunderstood Information
As viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall, Adam had run into his childhood friend Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenica) while he, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) were visiting his childhood home in Kansas. They were not able to stay at the farm due to its extreme state of disrepair, which he had reported to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) upon returning to Genoa City.
But he and Alyssa got to talking about Victor having been present near Leavenworth, Kansas where the farm is during AJ’s funeral, which wasn’t too long after Adam’s father, Cliff Wilson (uncast character) was killed in an automobile accident with a drunk driver.
Alyssa had grown up to be an investigative reporter, and they both found it odd that Victor had shown up and that neither Adam nor his mother Hope Wilson (most recently Signy Coleman, earlier Beth Toussaint) had attended the funeral, although Hope had sent over a cake she made.
Adam and Alyssa had proceeded to do investigations, Alyssa for what Adam told her would be an exposé of her father’s murder, and of Victor as the murderer. The only problem was that wasn’t exactly true- Victor had covered it up, certainly, but not because he had been the one who committed the crime.
Y&R Spoilers – An Eleven Year Old Adam Newman Had Killed AJ Montalvo And Blocked It Out
It turns out that what really happened was that an eleven-year-old Adam had tackled Montalvo and killed him, in defense of his mother, who had become blind by that time due to a genetic condition. It didn’t even happen in the barn; it happened inside Adam and Hope’s house, and Hope didn’t know what to do and called Victor, who came to find a disturbing sight of a dead body and a catatonic Adam.
Montalvo, a loan shark recently released from prison and harassing Hope for money that Cliff had owed him, had become violent and was roughing up Hope when Adam came in and he had left Montalvo dead on the floor with a blunt force trauma injury to the head.
Victor couldn’t let the eleven-year-old be blamed for a murder that Hope couldn’t even alibi, being blind, and so he had the farmhand George (uncast character) help him move Cliff’s body to near the barn where they created a scene that would appear to show that Montalvo was up in the hayloft and had fallen to the ground from an upstairs window and died that way, and paid off the coroner to put that in his report. Adam didn’t remember any of what had happened when he came back to himself later on – and Hope wanted it to stay that way.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Denied The Truth That He Was Told
Victor told Adam the truth in a recent episode of The Young and The Restless, and Adam wouldn’t believe it. Adam was angry that his father would pin a murder he committed on an eleven-year-old boy, and when he and Chelsea discussed it, he said no one would be able to verify the story with his mother dead for several years, even the coroner wouldn’t know who killed AJ, he had just assumed Victor did because Victor paid him off!
But sometimes when people have blocked traumatic events out, either as children or sometimes even as adults, something that subconsciously reminds them of the traumatic event will trigger it to resurface – and Adam was told the whole story in detail! He soon begins to have flashes, and then flashbacks of the murder when awake and nightmares with vivid detail when asleep, and himself as an angry, but terrified, eleven-year-old boy fearful for his blind mother, and he remembers the body in the house.

He realizes he’s seeing what Victor told him about Montalvo’s death, but it oddly seems to ring true to him now. Adam is disturbed more than ever over this now, as he doesn’t see Victor anywhere in these scenes until after Montalvo is dead – shouldn’t he be remembering seeing Victor killing him? And yet he doesn’t!

1. AJ’s body not Cliff’s
2. Adam has not started to have flashbacks yet. The last episode that aired ended with Adam telling Chelsea what Victor told him.
Yes indeed
This was NOT MURDER, it was an accident, just like Delia
