It didn’t matter that Abby (Melissa Ordway) knew she couldn’t carry a child, Chance (Donny Boaz) knew he couldn’t make a child, and Chance took off to who knows where with no notice leaving Abby all alone. Without even telling him, Abby forged ahead with their surrogacy plan, using Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) as a host body and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) as a sperm donor.

A whole pregnancy went by, in which Mariah was kidnapped by Abby’s crazy ex, Stitch (Sean Carrigan), and still barely a word from Chance, who was allegedly out there on some secret and dangerous government mission.

Now, Abby has a baby at home who she can’t seem to get used to, Devon available at a moment’s notice, and Mariah going through some sort of PTSD/postpartum depression stage all at once because she needed a baby, missing husband or not.

Abby laments her situation to Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). Her mother tries her best to be sympathetic when Abby goes on and on about Dominic’s father, the man she was married to for two months before he took off and dated for six months before marrying him. And the only reason they seemed to have for getting married so soon was to have a baby. What a mess Abby has made. And it’s about to get messier.

Y&R Spoilers – What Really Happened To Chance Chancelor?

While Ashley is visiting, Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) stops by and tells Abby she has some news on Chance. Abby can see by her serious look that the news can’t be good, but is it the worst-case scenario? Could Chance have been killed on whatever mission he’s been MIA trying to accomplish all this time?

That’s the only conclusion Abby can draw before Christine is even able to open her mouth. Is she correct and should she be glad she has her mother there right now for support?
