The Young And The Restless Actress Sues Sony TV & CBS Studios Over Alleged Sexual Harassment

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers show that a former actress is suing Sony Pictures Television and CBS Studios, the soap’s producers. The suit alleges that The Young and the Restless showrunner, Anthony “Tony” Morina harassed the actress on the set.

Thomas was on the show in what Deadline describes as a, “background role as a barista,” in 2018 and 2019. The legal documents filed Thursday in LA Superior Court allege that Morina, “commented on her body, made repeated advances, offered “private acting lessons,” then fired her when he was rebuffed.”

According to the suit, Morina allegedly leered at Thomas, complimented her appearance and told her she could, “really be something,” on the show. It is also alleged that he asked her to remove a covering in order to see her in a bikini.

The suit claims he told The Young and the Restless actress, “It’s a tough industry to break into, unless you know someone who can help you,” while touching her waist and playing with her bikini ties. He is also alleged to have said, “Let’s start with a private session and see if we can get you a little more comfortable.”

The suit lists nine claims of discrimination and retaliation. It details how Thomas alleges her Y&R job ended and the suit seeks several damages including, “unpaid wages, premium pay and statutory penalties.”

Within the 22-page document are the following claims: “After spurning his advances for months, Morina began to retaliate against Plaintiff and at one point blew up at her in front of other staff and coworkers,” and, “Morina began yelling at Plaintiff and saying she was ‘just an extra’ and there was ‘not going to be a part for (her]’ while cursing and verbally abusing Plaintiff and humiliating her in front of other staff.”

“Morina then told Plaintiff ‘l’m the reason why you have a job. l am doing you a favor. I like you. Do you understand what I am saying?’” the complaint says.

“After Plaintiff refused his advances again, Morina’s voice got even louder as he spewed more profanities and insults,” the suit claims. “Plaintiff was shocked, embarrassed, and distraught after the onslaught from Morin. After Plaintiff left work that day, she received an email stating that her employment was terminated and that she was no longer needed on the show.”
