The Young And The Restless Alum Doug Davidson Addresses Rumors Of Possible Return

The Young and the Restless spoilers and updates tease Doug Davidson broke his silence and responded to rumors about him returning to the show. Unfortunately, the actor’s response wasn’t the one fans wanted to hear.

There have been speculations that Davidson will return to rescue Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and bring her back to her loved ones. Davidson plays the role of Paul Williams, the Chief of Police in Genoa City. One fan asked the actor on Twitter if the rumors were true and he’s coming back. The Emmy winner replied with two words and unfortunately, he said “Not true.”

Many fans were left disappointed with Davidson’s answer. Some of them wished that he’ll return to save the day. One follower even said, “It’s so awkward that when a crime is committed. Paul can’t be referenced. If [Doug Davidson]/Paul was nothing, how come the fans are on here every day it seems to point out the lack of Paul on” the daytime soap. Another fan said that if Paul was in Genoa City, it wouldn’t take him weeks to realize that Mariah has gone missing.

He also promised to watch over his grandson regardless of the result of Ashland’s treatment outcome. Meanwhile, Ashland will continue to act as though Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has given her a reason to live. He’ll even ask her to choose a date for their wedding.
