The Young and the Restless star Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) just came out on social media. On Twitter, she posted that she would love to be the CW’s new Batwoman. For those that don’t follow the show, the original actress, Ruby Rose, has left the show. That is when Grimes responded to a comment and came out all in one big, amazing swoop!

After it was released that Rose left Batwoman, obviously the show needs a new one. It is reported that the reason Rose left the show was due to the long hours on set. It wasn’t working for the actress, so she and the network studio decided to part ways. Batwoman’s main character is Kate Kane, who is an out-of-the-closet lesbian.

Y&R star Grimes shared that she would like to be the next Batwoman.

Y&R Spoilers –  Camryn Grimes Comes Out

In the comments section on Twitter, one follower told Grimes that she believed casting was looking for an LGBT actress for the role.

“As AMAZING as this would be and as much as I support this idea, I think they’re looking for an out LGBT actress for the role.”

This is when Grimes replied and confirmed she is bisexual.

The Young and the Restless fans responded and were excited, but surprised, that she just came out. Fans commented that they were very proud of her coming out.

“Did you just… come out?!! Look very it!!! Proud!!!”

Then, she explained how she learned that she was attracted to both men and women.

“My bf is bisexual and it was during conversations with him that it just clicked. Honestly feel stupid I didn’t come to the conclusion sooner lol.”

In 1997, Grimes was cast as Mariah Copeland and has been playing the part ever since. Her character is in a lesbian relationship with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) on Y&R. She has been in 890 episodes to date, according to IMDB.

In addition to The Young and the Restless, Grimes also snagged roles on projects such as Medium, ER, Ghost Whisperer, Cold Case, NCIS: Los Angeles, The Mentalist, NCIS, and Haunted: 333.
