On Tuesday, June 1 Telma Hopkins starts in a short-term recurring role as private detective Denise Tolliver. She has jaw-dropping news about Amanda Sinclair’s past. Hopkins was a member of the singing group Tony Orlando and Dawn and appeared on the 1980s sitcom Gimme A Break!

In the, ‘it’s a small world category,’ Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) got his acting start on the sitcom Family Matters and Telma Hopkins played his mom on the show.

James shared on Instagram: “Thirty-one years ago, she held me my first day on set… And now, I have the honor of sharing the stage once again with the incomparable @telma_hopkins !!!! DON’T MISS #YR starting 6/1 👀👀#familymatters…”

Watch for Hopkins to appear in multiple episodes starting Tuesday, June 1, which will also mark the return of Mishael Morgan to her role as Amanda Sinclair. Karla Mosley had been temporarily filling in while the actress recovered from eye surgery.

On Tuesday, June 1 Mishael Morgan returns as Amanda Sinclair who has been busy defending her grandfather Sutton Aames (Jack Landron) for his involvement in the death of her birth father Richard Nealon.

Morgan’s return means the exit of Karla Mosley (ex-Maya Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful) who took on the role while Morgan was out on medical leave.

Morgan had an accident involving her eye that necessitated her having a recuperation period at home. In the meantime, the show cast Mosley who had been on the soap’s sister show B&B. Mosley stepped in at a fraught time for the character who is in the middle of a murder mystery involving the father she never knew.

Is she being played for a fool by her biological family? They were awfully interested in bringing her into the fold after initially rejecting her and it all has to do with clearing her grandfather of murdering her dad. We will learn much more about this plot next week!
