The Young and the Restless Day Ahead Spoilers for Friday, November 9: Tessa’s Shocking Cash Stash, Mariah Shocks Sharon

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) begins with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) coming to see Sharon (Sharon Case) demanding to know what Rey (Jordi Vilasuso); Mariah (Camryn Grimes) walks in with the same question but feels it’s only a matter of time before Rey makes an arrest. Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) reviews the news at the Jabot office when Kerry (Alice Hunter) arrives for their meeting, noticing the news on Phyllis’ laptop, sharing that she heard JT (Thad Luckinbill) was no prince.

Victoria Runs In To Nate

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) runs into Nate (Brooks Darnell) at the GCAC and he’s curious to see how she’s doing, offering his condolences. She admits she is preparing herself for the worst as Nate offers his support in any way she may need it; she just wants to be alone right now.

Mariah feels it is karmic justice what’s happened to JT. It is a very big day for Mariah, revealing that she is off to meet Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), not telling them anything else. Nikki feels they are still safe, but Sharon worries that Rey and the GCPD have figured out they are dealing with a group and hope they will flush each other out; both are trying to figure out what else the police have besides the watch.

Sharon Wants To Quit Her Job

Nikki pushes her to get back to the police station, to find out what the police know and if they have recovered a body; Sharon tells her she can’t because they are talking about murder now and with all the time she has been spending with Rey the more he is able to read her. The smartest thing she could do is quit and put distance between her and Rey; Nikki orders her to get back to the station unless she wants to spend the next 25 years in a prison cell!

Mariah goes to Crimson Lights where Tessa teases her a bit, but then tells it was a no brainer and of course she wants to live with her; Mariah happily kisses her. Mariah admits it’s scary finding the one and worrying about how long it is before they screw it up. Tessa says she has lived with others before, but never felt this way before. Mariah asks where Tessa would like to live, suggesting a place, but Tessa insists they will split the rent. Tessa asks if Mariah could live with her in her studio, asking when she wants to move in.

Jack (Peter Bergman) joins Nate at the GCAC, saying he is so proud how his family has come together in crisis with Lily (Christel Khalil). Jack talks of a time when Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Nate’s mom, Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams) were inseparable. Nate is sad to hear that Jack doesn’t think Ashley will be back to Genoa City any time soon and will be more fired up when she learns Phyllis is the new CEO at Jabot.

Phyllis Bonds With Kerry

Kerry learns that Phyllis considered JT a friend, but it turns out she didn’t know him at all, especially when he tried to kill Victor (Eric Braeden). They get back to business talk. Phyllis loves her attitude even after giving her an impossible task and she has responded with enthusiasm; Phyllis begs her not to burn out. Kerry assures her that she doesn’t come to play if she cannot win.

Jack tells Nate about his night with Dina (Marla Adams), and catching a glimpse of the old Dina; it lasted for a minute or two. Nate knows Alzheimers is a cruel disease as Jack is glad to have her in his life it’s just not the same thing. Nate reminds him to hang onto the good memories and take comfort in the knowledge that him and his mother had time together while they could still connect; he’s by her side during the toughest part of her journey, like family should be.

Reed Wants JT News

Victoria is on the phone with Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu), promising to talk to him later when she hears more. Nikki talks to Victoria about how upset Reed is; Victoria worried that it will come out that they are responsible for his father’s death. Sharon returns to the precinct, overhearing Rey on the phone. He’s not complaining about how busy it is because it has given him momentum. Sharon announces that she is resigning.

Nikki urges Victoria to stay calm and not make assumptions because if the police have figured it out, they would have made arrests by now. Victoria wonders if its possible to come out of this unscathed; Nikki says she has to be hopeful.

Mariah Surprises Sharon

Sharon tells Rey they are too good together as a team; Rey thinks its because they almost crossed the line the other day and what would have happened if he didn’t get that call? Mariah arrives, wanting to talk to her mom. She reveals that her and Tessa have decided to move in together and she’s moving in with her today. Sharon wonders why there is such a rush as Mariah explains that Tessa is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to her; Sharon is very proud of her, wishing her all the love and luck.

Kerry explains the Phyllis that their customers don’t want revived fragrances and suggests a complete overhaul; Phyllis agrees. Kerry talks about building a new men’s line and pangender line. It parts from Jabot’s conservative ways, but Phyllis feels they really need to reinvent themselves.

Nikki and Victoria arrive at the CEO office, where Victoria is impressed with Kerry’s resume and says Jabot is lucky to have her. Phyllis is angry they came over without warning as Nikki tells her to put off her next meeting. Phyllis orders them to leave her alone when it comes to JT and their friend, Rey.

Sharon Gives Rey Bad News

Rey apologizes to Sharon, but admits he has feelings for her. He knows he needs to honor his commitment to Mia (Noemi Gonzalez) and she just ended it with Nick (Joshua Morrow). In another universe he would have liked to see what would have happened, Sharon feels they need to do the responsible thing and whatever this is between them she also feels it too; but right now he is a complication she can’t afford in her life and that means quitting her job.

Tessa scoffs at everything Mariah is bringing, including an old throw she brings. Mariah looks around, remembering this is the first real home she had, with tears in her eyes she says she is ready. Together, they leave the house as Mariah scans the house one last time. Tessa is nervous, feeling there is a huge difference between visiting and living, but Mariah tells her to relax as this is “home.”

Nate informs Jack that he is ready to dive back in at work at Memorial; Jack quickly introduces him to Kerry before he takes off. Jack has a proposition for Kerry, saying he will be attending the grand opening of JaBoutiques next week and would like her to attend that and the after party with him. He feels he deserves a second chance to prove himself. She promises to think about it.

Sharon tells Rey she is curious, like everyone else, wondering what they found to turn this into a murder investigation. Rey says it’s a need to know basis. Rey is called away, but asks her not to do anything about the job because they have some unfinished business between them.

Phyllis Puts Distance Between Herself And Coverup Crew

Victoria, Nikki and Phyllis continue to talk in Phyllis’ office, all agreeing they need solid information and say Sharon threatened to quit her job at the GCPD. Victoria feels regardless what Sharon does, they need to stay a united front, but Phyllis tells them that she is pulling out of this club. Phyllis knows they can’t break this bond even if she wanted to but she does intend to look out for herself. She says despite their cover story, too many people are suspicious about their charity meetings. They need to communicate, but from a distance; Nikki and Victoria agree and will speak to Sharon about it.

Rey calls Sharon back to a private office, telling her she cannot leave her job because if it wasn’t for this lead, he would quit. He feels since they cleared the air they can move on and make sure there is no more confusing moments. He doesn’t want her to sacrifice everything because of him, too many people need her skills and compassion. She tells him she will be at her desk if he needs her.

Tessa’s Shocking Cash Stash

Tessa and Mariah try to figure out where to put everything when Mariah finds a bunch of packed bags. Tessa won’t let Mariah touch the bags, revealing inside hundreds of thousands of dollars, she quickly puts the bag away when Mariah returns. Mariah is very grateful for Tessa for everything she has been for Mariah, completely oblivious to her dark secrets.
