The Young and the Restless Day Ahead Spoilers for Friday, October 26: Lily’s Emotional Goodbye, Ashley’s Shocking Announcement

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) begins with a young Ashley telling her Dad, John about her 6th grade chemistry project for school. He believes she can win the prize and show everyone how smart she is; she hopes if she works really hard and wins that her mom will love her as much as she loves Jack; but now Dina isn’t even there to see it.

Ashley And Dina Bond

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) looks at a family photo as Abby (Melissa Ordway) brings Dina (Marla Adams) into the living room, asking if she knows Ashley. She tells adult Ashley that she has a beautiful daughter named Ashley, offering for Mami to make them some tea. Ashley wants to thank her as Dina says she tried to be a good mom. Ashley tells her that she always thought Dina loved Jackie (Peter Bergman) more than her.

Ashley knows now that all three of them were special and Dina made sure that Ashley’s paternity could never be used against her and it was Dina put it in writing. Ashley admits she was wrong and Dina really did love her.

Jack meets with Billy (Jason Thompson) who confirms they do have enough votes in the family to put Ashley back in charge. Jack is adamant is desperate to find a way for Ashley to back down, as everyone has a price.

Lily’s Family Panics Over Prison Transfer

Cane (Daniel Goddard) returns to see Lily (Christel Khalil) who informs him her transfer is happening and she is moving to Lakewood Correctional Center, which is 4 hours away; Cane promises he will do everything they can to stop this. Devon (Bryton James) is calling in favors to stop the transfer as there has to be other ways to protect her; Lily feels this is ironic because if she would have protected Hilary (Mishael Morgan) instead of always attacking her, she wouldn’t be in prison. She is sorry her family is paying the price for her mistakes and wonders if the kids should know about what is going on.

Devon is calling the Senator, while Nate (Brooks Darnell) and Neil (Kristoff St. John) await on word from Michael (Christian LeBlanc) on what can be done. Devon asks the Senator for an early release for Lily as this was a mistake and shouldn’t be punished in this way, suggesting she could be confined to her own home or an ankle monitor. He has to wait for a call back as Neil says the Warden insists there is nothing they can do.

Abbott’s Continue To Argue Over CEO Position

Traci (Beth Maitland), Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Abby arrive at Jabot, where they learn that it looks like Ashley is not in the mood to compromise. Traci feels both their parents wanted Ashley to share in the Abbott legacy, so Jack suggests both him and Billy want to offer Ashley a generous sum of money. Kyle says Ashley will not be CEO and both Kyle and Abby begin to argue, causing everyone to fight. Jack believes their father would have told them all about the document but he had a stroke before he could.

Abby throws in their face that Ashley feels she was the one who ruined Dina and John’s (Jerry Douglas) picture perfect family and it was Jack’s Blood Abbott clause that confirmed her worst fear and she forgave him. Kyle feels they shouldn’t forgive Ashley because she is using extortion to force their hands, but Abby says its sad that John had to write the document in order to protect her mother from Jack, knowing he would grab all the power. Traci says their father would be so disappointed and they are all Abbotts and should start acting like it before it’s too late!

A young Ashley stares at a picture of her mom, as her dad reassures her that Dina loves her, saying Dina leaving had nothing to do with her. Ashley says she can guarantee she doesn’t miss her, at least not as much as she misses her favorite Jack. He understands that she is hurt and angry, but Ashley still wishes she would be at the science fair. Ashley says Dina will miss everything that is important to her. John promises “my Beauty” it will be okay, that he will always be there for her; something Jack and Traci both see.

Ashley Doesn’t Want Money, She Wants Respect

Ashley comes to Jabot, hoping the meeting will be civil as Jack says they all want to honor John’s wishes when it comes to Ashley. They have all decided to offer her this for complete rights to her patents as well as royalties on every future sale on any product she developed. They also want her to continue to run RND with increased salary and budget. Ashley says this isn’t about money and throws the paper at Jack, saying he is willing to cripple Jabot just to keep her from being CEO and all the thoroughbred Abbotts went along for the ride. She chastises them all and tells Jack it shows how little he respects her.

Cane tells Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) are upset about what is happening with their mother, unsure where she is may be relocated. Nate has been told that Lily is medically cleared and suggests talking to Victor (Eric Braeden) but just then the Senator calls Devon.

Jack talks to his dad about Dina leaving, saying they are all hurting. John says that Ashley is sad because she is a young girl, but they made a promise to be strong men for his sisters. Jack admits it is affecting all of them, but John says he has a company to run and it takes time and one day Jack will understand that. John wants Jack to take the lead at home and not feel sorry for himself.

At Jabot, Jack reveals he made a promise to their dad to protect Ashley and he’s sorry he failed her. He regrets hurting her; but not enough to make her CEO. She berates Billy as Traci says none of them should be running Jabot right now and Kyle agrees. Ashley tells Kyle he didn’t even know John; Abby interrupts her and says her Grandpa would hate what is going on and this all started when she was a little girl, NOT with the Blood Abbott clause. Abby knows it wasn’t until she found out about those papers that she knew she was loved; they all tell her how much they love her and ask her not to do anything until she processes it all, Ashley admits she needs a little time and walks out.

Abby wants to go after Ashley, but Jack is frustrated feeling he doesn’t know how they got there. Billy feels Ashley will realize that their relationship will be more important than the CEO chair. Billy thinks they will all work through this tough moment as Jack and Ashley have always worked things out.

Traci butts in and says it was always Jack who held things together, remembering it was Jack who help Ashley celebrate the 6th grade Science fair, even when John wasn’t there. Billy asked who was there for Jack, and Jack says it was a different time as boys weren’t allowed to show their emotions; Traci said Jack never complained.

Jack tells a young Ashley he saw her crying earlier, asking her if she needs help with something. They both talk about how she is dad’s favorite and he is mom’s favorite. Jack says Dina didn’t care enough for any of them to stick around. Jack tells her that if dad doesn’t have time for her, Jack will always make time for her, she can always talk to him as he is her big brother and will protect her. Traci sees the special moment between the two.

Lily’s Emotional Goodbye

Cane and the twins visit Lily, telling her all the options they are working on. Lily informs them all her personal belongings have been packed and where she is being taken to. She tells them what matters is that she will be safe as Mattie wants to go to the media, but Lily needs to stay under the radar. Devon and Neil come in, revealing they had no luck; Devon feels guilty saying if he could go back he would change things. Cane kisses her, saying he loves her; she says that is what will get her through this too.

It’s time for Lily to go and she begs Neil to take care of her family; Devon signs, “I love you” to Lily as they hug goodbye. The twins promise to take care of each other as she reminds them the morning always comes after the night. Lily apologizes to Cane as he says no regrets as he is the luckiest man to have her and tells her to hold onto that, promising he will always be close. She is pulled away by the guards.

Traci shares with the family how Jack was a mother and father to her and Ashley; the one who made them feel safe. Kyle wants to know how things changed for Jack when Dina left. Traci says she saw things as Daddy doted on Ashley, maybe because she needed it, but Jack must have been hurting so much because she never saw John comfort Jack once. Jack admits he was so jealous of them because it was clear that men were not allowed to show emotion and John needed him to be strong and that was what was drilled into him and the emotion was what made Ashley the weak one.

Ashley Announces She’s Leaving Town For Good

Ashley arrives, saying she has made a decision. She decided she can’t take a back seat and won’t answer to anyone who will be CEO. She doesn’t believe a word out of Jack’s mouth and won’t allow him to walk over her again. She tells Traci that calling her an “Abbott” doesn’t make it so. She is officially turning down their offer. Ashley informs them she is walking away from Jabot and the family that is pretending to forgive her because they want something from her. She is taking the patents and leaving Genoa City!
