The Young and the Restless Day Ahead Spoilers Thursday, October 18: Kyle Comforts Summer, Phyllis Freaks On Billy

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) begins today with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Summer (Hunter King) confronting Billy (Jason Thompson) for being such a pig for using Summer; accusations fly between mother and daughter as Summer tells Billy and Phyllis they are perfect for each other. Billy calls Summer a “drama queen” and he thinks its was the perfect revenge to sleep with the daughter of the two people who screwed him over. Phyllis slaps him.

Nate Visits Lily

Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) finish work at the same time, planning a night together alone. Nate (Brooks Darnell) visits Lily (Christel Khalil), revealing Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) are seeing each other; she’s disappointed that Neil wouldn’t share his happiness with her. She’s frustrated that Cane (Daniel Goddard) didn’t show up for his visit. Nate has no idea what is going on with Cane, and tells her if she hasn’t heard from Cane by tomorrow, he will find out what is going on.

Kyle (Michael Mealor) finds Lola (Sasha Calle) at Crimson, telling her that he has really bad family drama, but he’d like to make it up for not texting her; offering to jet her off to Chicago for dinner. She suggests he make it up to her by explaining why he was arrested for grave robbing.

Phyllis Freaks On Billy

Back at Jabot, Phyllis shouts at Billy that he should take out his frustrations out on her and Nick (Joshua Morrow), not their daughter. Phyllis insists they were broken up when she slept with Nick as Billy says he needs to thank Sharon (Sharon Case) for saving him before he bought Phyllis a ring. He suggests Phyllis be honest, that she loves keeping guys on the side; this time it was Nick, but they all know she still has Jack (Peter Bergman) on a string.

Devon (Bryton James) brings Shauna (Camryn Hamm) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) home from her swim meet, celebrating her win. Devon says she should be very proud of herself as she worked really hard and she reminded herself of what Hilary (Mishael Morgan) used to tell her. She felt like Hilary was with her today, Devon hugs her and Charlie, saying it makes him feel happy to hear it; even though Shauna was worried it would upset him.

Lola Catches Up With Kyle

Lola learns Kyle went through all that trouble, only to find out that John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) was really his paternal grandfather anyways. She admires the lengths he went to for his father, but she is also freaked out; revealing her brothers wanted her to think the worst of him and are furious she is dating him. Tessa and Mariah come inside, where Lola meets Mariah for the first time; Lola suggests they all hang out. Mariah says dinner, Tessa says a movie but when Kyle says bowling, they all look at him funny. Lola says they can have a game night.

Nate finds Charlie and Shauna at Devon’s place, where he congratulates her on winning her swim meet. He wonders where Cane is, revealing that Cane didn’t show up to see Lily today.

Phyllis feels if Summer hadn’t fell for Billy’s ways, he would have ended up in bed with Victoria (Amelia Heinle), but he says as far as revenge sex goes, it wouldn’t have been nearly as effective with her. Phyllis is thrilled Billy lost his job and hopes he loses everything else. Billy says sleeping with someone wasn’t one of his finest moments, but he did it so she can live with the vivid image of the two of them together, just like he’s tortured by her and Nick and the lies that followed; as Billy leaves Phyllis throws things across the office.

Kyle brings everyone to the Abbott mansion, where Lola talks about the kitchen being right out of a magazine. Mariah reminds Lola that his entire family lives there, but he says it got less crowded and only his grandmother and nurse are home, suggesting the games begin!

Lola Parties With Kyle, Mariah, Tessa

Charades is the game of choice, after the first round Tessa feels this is not Kyle and Lola’s game; they suggest playing Truth or Dare instead. Kyle asks Lola wants “truth about a time she did something wrong and she regretted it”. Lola says she had a job at a car dealership, where she didn’t get paid after a month. She wanted to take care of the issue for herself, she took a truck in exchange for the payment, cannibalized all the other vehicles in his lot to make the truck run before he realized what she did. She doesn’t regret it at all.

Lola asks Mariah the same question. Mariah says she impersonated her dead twin sister to make someone think they were crazy and she will regret it until her dying day; Lola doesn’t want to know the details on that. Mariah wants the same question from Tessa; she says stealing Mariah’s journal and making from it was the worst. Lola is feeling a lot less like a bad ass. Kyle suddenly gets a text from Summer, saying, “I really need to talk. Are you home?”

Nate finds Cane drinking at the GCAC, who says he missed visiting Lily due to a business meeting. Nate confronts him, saying he doesn’t understand how upset Lily was, thinking maybe something was wrong with the kids.

Mariah is about to get another round of drinks when the doorbell sounds and Kyle finds Summer outside. Kyle tells her it isn’t a good time; Mariah asks “Snowflake” what she is doing there and she realizes they are having a party. Kyle tells Mariah to lay off as Tessa wonders if he is the only one she can talk to. Lola thinks he should do whatever he needs to do for his “friend” as Mariah tells him that Summer has never been a friend to him. Lola brushes him off as he apologizes for their evening. Summer thanks him for not slamming the door in his face, but he already knows this has to do with Billy.

Devon and Shauna both feel Charlie can’t live his life filled with guilt because his mom is in prison. Devon reminds him that Lily doesn’t want him depressed, moping around and skipping class and its time he takes his mom at her word.

Meanwhile, Nate needs to calm Lily’s fears and he cares about her and needs to get a handle on what’s happening. Cane says the last time he went there it was strained. Nate calls him out on how he is taking the easy way out instead of considering how difficult it is for Lily as she is the one going back to a cell and she needs him more than ever. Cane needs to get over it and show up because it is only going to get harder.

Cane and Billy both end up at the bar ordering drinks as Cane tells him not to even consider asking him for a job; they both realize they are their own worst enemy. Cane admits he did something horrible today.

Mariah, Lola and Tessa drink together at GCAC, where Lola admits she doesn’t understand this thing between Summer and Kyle. Tessa feels they should try to give Summer the benefit of the doubt. Lola wonders if Kyle left the door open, and Summer knows it.

Kyle Comforts Summer

Summer doesn’t know how she is going to face anyone again; Kyle asks since when she became a coward and she can do whatever she puts her mind to and can’t wait to see what is next for her. She thanks him and he holds her tightly.

Tessa questions Mariah, who wouldn’t be surprised if Kyle is still hooked up on Summer. Mariah hates that Kyle is so dense letting Summer ruin things with Lola who is so much better than “the Princess”. Mariah does admit that it is possible Summer is in crisis since she is such a toxic person or she could just be playing games as in she doesn’t want Kyle but she doesn’t want anyone else to have him either.

Kyle arrives, trying to salvage what was left of his date with Lola, but Mariah tells him he blew it.

Summer finds her mom crying in the Jabot office; Phyllis doesn’t want to talk to her. They apologize to each other as Phyllis says Billy wanted to hurt them both and he did a damn good job, but they are better off without that Loser!

Billy tells Cane he doesn’t why Lily puts up with him because she is a wonderful woman, unlike Phyllis. Cane feels bad for Billy, but figures they will get back together like they always do; but Billy says not this time, as he has caused damage that cannot be undone.
