The Young And The Restless: Michelle Stafford Lays Down The Law

Soap fans love the genre, they love the drama so much so, that things sometimes get a little out of hand. One would think that after years of watching daytime soap operas, viewers would learn to be able to separate reel from real and actors from their characters. This is obviously still an issue as the actress from The Young and the Restless, Michelle Stafford had to lay down the law on Twitter to her followers who probably got a little out of hand with their comments.

The Young And The Restless  – Michelle Stafford Has Been In The Soap Genre For Quite A While

Stafford has been on the show and in the genre for many, many years. She currently plays Phyllis Summers on Y&R but also played Nina Reeves on General Hospital. Phyllis was also played by soap veteran and Daytime Emmy award-winner, Gina Tognoni during Stafford’s time on GH. Now, in the story on screen, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Phyllis reunited. For many, this was what they wanted and for some, they would have much rather Jack with someone else and Phyllis with another man. But, it wasn’t the fact that Jack and Phyllis had reunited that bothered some, it was the case of Phyllis using Jack to taunt her newly-returned nemesis, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).

We assume with this story happening, fans attacked Stafford on social media with their thoughts forgetting that she is only playing what is written on the script. So the beloved actress took the time to reintroduce herself and shared, “I would like to introduce myself to some of you folks. My name is Michelle Stafford. It is not Phyllis Summers. That is a character I play. I am not responsible for that character’s actions. So you can throw your hate somewhere else…God Bless.”

Y&R Spoilers – Jack Abbott And Phyllis Summers’ History

Jack and Phyllis have much history just like Phyllis and Nick. So, it was no surprise that the show would attempt a reunion with the two after all these years especially with Diane back in town. We were happy to see the reunion and was hoping it would somehow last. In the end, fans need to be reminded that they should separate reel from real and actors from the characters they play on TV.
