The Young and The Restless News Update: First 5 Actors To Return Filming Revealed & New Filming Date Revealed

The Young and The Restless News Update: First 5 Actors To Return Filming Revealed & New Filming Date RevealedCBS The Young and the Restless spoilers and updates reveal that the show’s new production start date has been postponed from its originally announced date.

Our source at CBS is confirming reports that the show now expects to relaunch on July 13 or 14. That’s the week following what they had hoped to be a return to production on Monday, July 6.

Perhaps they’re anticipating a 4th of July hiccup to potentially affect filming? The governor of that state has warned that future shutdowns, in general, are possible and in recent days re-ordered bars and restaurants in the state to close.

When Will Y&R Start Filming?

The Young and The Restless Is expected to be back filming in the third week of July, either the 13 or 14 of July. B&B has already returned to filming, while GH is expected to resume taping this month and DOOL has announced a resume to filming in September. DOOL films so many weeks in advance of air dates that it to has a massive stock of original material compared to the other soaps. As such it continues to air new episodes and so has a bit more leeway when it comes to resuming production.

The show films in California as do the other three remaining American soaps, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and Y&R’s sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful.

Which Y&R Cast Members Will Film First

Our CBS inside source is reporting that Sharon Case (Sharon Newman), Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman), Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) and Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman.

The Show’s Sister Soap Has Already Returned To Filming

B&B began filming on June 17 but was shut down again due to coronavirus testing issues. It has since resumed production with a whole host of COVID-19 precautions in place. This includes separate taping areas for individual scenes and a six-foot distance between all personnel.

There is speculation that the soaps could use actors’ real-life partners to film love scenes. This would come in handy for at least one Y&R actress, Melissa Ordway who plays Abby Newman. Ordway’s husband Justin Gaston is an actor and most notably originated the character Ben Weston on Days of our Lives.

When Will The Sudser Return To Production And To The Airwaves?

There is no official word yet on who will be back to film first when Y&R kicks into gear. No doubt front burner storylines will be addressed first, such as Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) cancer treatment story.

Then again, there is speculation that the soap could tweak and even significantly alter plots now that the hiatus has given them time to tinker with story arcs.
