Adam and Billy have a complicated history. For years, they sought to destroy each other. Over the past few weeks, they agreed to call a truce for the sake of Chelsea. Billy’s support was essential to Chelsea, so Adam decided not to fight with him over his ex-wife.

Even though Adam agreed to allow Billy into Chelsea’s life, that doesn’t mean he’s happy about it. He promised Chelsea that he would put her mental health first. So if part of improving her mental health includes a friendship with Billy, Adam reluctantly agrees to allow it.

After Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) told Adam that she wanted to pursue a relationship with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Adam changed his focus to keeping his family together. Chelsea is starting to trust Adam more, thus leaning on her ex for support in this challenging phase of her recovery. As a result, Adam feels protective of his son’s mother. He may consider reuniting with Chelsea down the road, so Billy’s presence in her life is a big obstacle.

Victoria feels the same way about Billy’s involvement with Chelsea. Although she doesn’t have romantic feelings for Billy now, she doesn’t want her son Johnny to have a relationship with Johnny. She has tried to block any requests from Chelsea to see Johnny. However, Billy encourages Johnny to build a friendship with his bio mom. The whole situation makes Victoria feel uneasy and jealous over their connection.
